The Development of TOPCon
• PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Contact) was one step to overcome therecombination problem of metal – semiconductor contacts (widelyused in the industry, mainly on mono cells)
• TOPCon is the next step to get closer to a perfect solar cell– Carrier selective contacts (optimized for electrones and holes)– Higher Fill Factor– Higher open circuit voltage– Most efficient on N-type wafers
• Target is to keep costs and process complexity low to make iteconomically successful
• Trina is ready to produce TOPCon Cells with 23% efficiency in volume
