Since it’s formation in 2002, as a specialist supplier of architectural cast stone to the house building and construction sector, Pennine has grown to be one of the country’s top 3 cast stone manufacturers in its own right.

“Tested by BBA, so you don’t have to”

PRODUCT GROUPS & COLOURS

TecCastTecCast is a revolutionary cast stone process that utilises the latest technology to produce a superior, yet traditional cast stone product.

The basis of all TecCast products is a high strength mix blended using highly advanced computer controlled batching equipment. Regular cube compressive and water absorption testing is carried out by an independent UKAS accredited laboratary. The results are far in excess of the current 25MPa cube crushing strength requirement of BS 1217 and the even more stringent UKCSA Specification of 35MPa.

TecCast is available in both standard product form or as bespoke items and is the only cast stone manufacturing process to be BBA (British Board of Agrément ) certified.

TecLiteAs an alternative to TecCast we offer TecLite. This is a wet cast mix reinforced with alkali resistant glass fibre strands. The resultant products are attrition resistant, crack resistant and, due to the thin wall construction, can be down to one third of the weight of the equivalent TecCast item.

TecStoneThis is a traditional wet cast concrete material and as such can be reinforced with steel to produce structural units.

PENNINEAt Pennine we recognise customer satisfaction as being at the very core of our business.

For this reason every one of our customers is handled by a dedicated team headed by a Technical Account Manager. In this way our clients have the reassurance of a single point of contact for all matters relating to any of their contracts with us.

From the receipt of an enquiry the relevant Customer Service Team will ensure that fully quantified and priced schedules are prepared for each element, or plot, on a particular development. These schedules will detail the items required on the project. Even at this early stage each component will be allocated product references and estimated weights calculated for every item. Further information such as suggested lifting eyes etc. is also included within each quotation.

At order stage full workshop and, where required, construction CAD drawings can be produced for client approval. Once matters are finalised and details agreed the quote will be updated. In this way subsequent order acknowledgements, delivery notes and invoices can be easily reconciled by the client’s accounts department.

Finally, after manufacture of the products, the team will liaise with site to arrange delivery. The whole process will be carried out within the agreed time period ensuring that our customers receive the goods they need when required.

Custom & Bespoke DesignsPennine has an extensive range of standard architectural components. Alternatively, by utilising the company’s state-of-the-art mould shop and production facilities, Pennine’s craftsmen can produce custom-made moulds, to individual specifications, in any quantity. Pennine’s experienced staff would be pleased to discuss your requirements in order to provide the complete cast stone supply solution.

All TecCast products are manufactured using a unique and technically advanced process from a blend of crushed and graded aggregates, cements, waterproofing agents, additives and where required colouring pigments.

The entire batching and mix delivery operation is fully automated and controlled by highly sophisticated computer systems ensuring the optimum water/cement ratio so critical in the manufacture of this type of material.

Within forty minutes of casting units are moved directly into our state-of-the-art curing chambers where they are subjected to a controlled temperature and relative humidity environment for at least 8 hours.

This revolutionary and high tech manufacturing system has allowed TecCast to become the first and only cast stone production process to be awarded British Board of Agrément certification.

TecLite & TecStone

TecLiteGlass reinforced concrete has been used throughout the world for the last 30 years and is recognised as a durable and versatile building material.

TecLite is an innovative alternative to TecCast. Although closely resembling traditional cast stone and natural stone in appearance, the use of thin wall construction and GRC technology means a substantialy reduced component weight can be achieved. Ideal for new build, timber-framed and retro-fit projects.

By combining wet cast mix designs with chopped alkali resistant glass fibre strands we are able to produce thin wall units with high tensile and flexural strength. TecLite components are strong, incredibly light and offer significant advantages in use.

The products are treated to achieve a natural stone finish and are fully cured before packing and despatch to site.

TecStoneTecStone is a wet cast material manufactured from a mixture of crushed and graded aggregates, cements, waterproofing agents, additives, and where required colouring pigments.

TecStone can incorporate steel reinforcement to allow the manufacture of units with high tensile strength.

All TecStone products are post cast treated to closely resemble their TecCast and TecLite counterparts.

PackingAll TecCast products have individual component labels attached during the manufacturing process.

These labels detail all critical information such as Client, Site, Descriptive, Weight etc. Also contained within the label information are production batch information, production date etc. allowing full tracking within the manufacturing operations.

During the packing process the bar coded data on each label is scanned using hand held computers which update our sales order processing system and produce full pallet manifests which accompany each delivery.

All units are suitably packed onto purpose made pallets which are specifically designed to avoid product overhang – a major cause of site damage.

Yard StorageAll completed pallets are moved into our 6 acre, hard landscaped, storage yard. Each individual consignment is assigned a dedicated storage bay prior to despatch to the customer. No products are then moved until they are loaded onto the delivery vehicle.

PACKING & DELIVERIES

DeliveriesMost deliveries are made by our own fleet of specialised vehicles. These are all company owned and are designed exclusively for the transportation of cast stone products. Each vehicle features air suspension, non-contact restraining systems, and demountable forklift off load. Site HandlingAll pallet wrapping fully details the basic handling requirements for the product. In addition we publish a series of Data Sheets which detail handling, installation, cutting and other important information. A full list of available sheets is at the end of this literature.
