1. Congratulations to the Lady Mariners Cross-‐Country Team who made HISTORY by becoming St. Monica's first ever CIF Finalists in Cross-‐Country this past weekend with their outstanding performance at the CIF Prelims in Riverside!! Led by Gracie Parker, the Mariners utilized some great pack running by Michelle Garcia, Bella Fernandez, Marie Escalante, Camila Gonzalez, Kate Romero, and Kailey Paris to secure the history making performance. Please congratulate these girls along with Varsity contributors Matiana Herbert and Olivia Fitzmorris for a record-‐breaking weekend. Next up for the team is the CIF Finals this Saturday morning at Mt. SAC!!!!
2. A valiant effort was made by the Boys XC Team this past weekend at the CIF Prelims. Attempting to be only the second Boys XC Team to make it to CIF Finals since 1970, the boys ran well, but fell short of their goal. The boys were led by Bobby Ruelas who finished his season as the fastest freshman in the CIF Southern Section with his performance. Other great performances were had by Konnor Paris, Kevin Santoya, Caleb Solomon, Cameron Richardson, Fred Wu, and Damien Vega. Along with Varsity Contributors, Austin Cathcart, and Ryan Spivey, the boys XC team finished their wonderful season with style, speed, and strength.
