First Day - Thursday 5th September

• Only Year 7 and Year 11 in school.• Arrive at school by 8.25am• Gather on the middle playground to meet tutors and Year 11

prefects. Staff will be on hand to direct.• Periods 1-2 with tutors including year group assembly and

meeting Year 11 prefects• Period 3 with tutors, getting used to the school• During periods 1-3, registration for fingerprint recognition

for cashless catering will be completed - reminder to hand in the consent form please

• Periods 4-6 follow timetabled lessons - may need PE kit!

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

• Internet-based.

• Access in school or at home.• Used by teachers for

organising and setting homework, projects and other activities.

• Students can submit work, contribute to debates, add pictures/videos to learning blogs and lots more.

• Personal school email account linked with Google Docs and Google classroom

Usernames and passwords will be issued on their first day at the school and all students will be given support on how the VLE works during ICT lessons

Ordering uniform

The Uniform Office will be open 5.30-7pm on Wednesday 10th July, Thursday 11th July, Monday 15th July and Tuesday 16th July.

Reopens for collections/exchanges at the end of the summer holidays between 5.30-7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd September and 10am–1pm on Wednesday 4th September.

‘Meet the PTA’ informal meeting on 16th September - drop in 7-9pm.

Tracey Schuil-Brewer and Angela Gosling will be available at the end of this Evening, should anyone wish to have a chat about volunteering.

Transport

• Hampshire County Council is responsible for all local school transport plans and arrangements. Any queries should be addressed directly to them. Applications are made using the online service

• HCC usually send bus passes and precise details of the route and stops in late August/early September.

• Morton’s buses run the privately hired service from Chineham, Lychpit, Old Basing etc.

• Students who are staying for extra curricular activities can catch a late bus -tickets sold on the day by our prefects. The buses leave around 3.40pm. The late buses are arranged by the school.

• Safe dropping off, parking and driving near the school. Cars are not allowed on to the school site between 2.20pm and 2.45pm.
