1st February 2019
Dear Parents/Carers, Thank you for those parents/carers who took the time to vote on the PE uniform, which they would prefer their child to wear from September 2019. The results of the vote are stated below:
1. New PE tracksuit – 43%
2. Current royal blue PE uniform with royal blue PE sweatshirt – 57%
Therefore, from September 2019 we will be bringing in the second option. Below are photographs of what this will look like. The majority of votes for the Juniors were in favour of the new tracksuit, as they preferred the black bottoms. I have therefore decided that you will have a choice of either royal blue or black bottoms. PE Uniform – September 2019
Royal blue or black jogging bottoms or shorts (any store)
House colour PE T-shirt KS1 & KS2, White T-shirt Reception (Smiths)
PE fleece sweatshirt, which will replace the school jumper on PE days in cold
weather (Smiths- £15- available in 2 weeks) THE BADGE IS PAPER AND WILL NOT BE
THIS BIG
Black plain trainers (Google search, as many stores have these)
Black or white socks (any store)
PE Uniform Royal Blue
PE Uniform Royal Blue Top and Black Bottoms
PE Uniform – January to July 2019 (Till the end of this school year) There has been different information provided by letter and on the website regarding the current PE kit and therefore I will keep all choices so that no parent has to buy anything new until September 2019.
Black, navy or royal blue jogging bottoms or shorts
House colour PE T-shirt KS1 & KS2, White T-shirt Reception (Smiths)
Plain coloured sweatshirt or hoodie
Trainers, preferable a dark colour
Grey, white or black socks
If you wish your child to come into school dressed in their PE clothes now or in September, then the PE days are stated below. If you wish to send your child in their school clothes and get changed, then that is totally acceptable, as it is not compulsory. I must remind you that we are unable to provide additional adults in KS2 for children to get changed separately. Children are also losing PE time by getting undressed and dressed.

Our value of the month is Humour Rowan Atkinson, famous for playing Mr. Bean is the subject of this
month’s artwork, thanks to caricature artist Rodney Pike. The artist took
some of history’s most famous portraits (in this case, a portrait entitled;
Sir Thomas More 1527 by Hans, the Younger Holbein) and jazzed them
up by replacing the original subjects’ faces with those of Atkinson
displaying his signature acting expressions.
Art is usually a subject we think of as serious and we often spend time analysing and studying various forms of artwork. However, in the spirit of this month’s value; ‘Humour’ we have chosen this digitally enhanced renaissance portrait of ‘Mr Bean’. Sometimes we take life way too seriously. As we grow up, the number of times we laugh per day lessens. We often hear that laughter is the best medicine. Is it true? The answer is yes! Laughter is a powerful remedy to stress, pain, and conflict. Laughter is good for your health; laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after; laughter boosts the immune system; laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain. Laughter also has social benefits; Laughter can strengthen relationships and enhance teamwork. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness; laughter can attract people to us. Who doesn’t love a funny person? So now you know the advantages of laughter. Ask yourself, how many times did you laugh today? QUOTE OF THE DAY "The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters." - Audrey Hepburn You know it was a good day if you laughed! (Mrs Whitehouse)
World Book Day 7th March 2019
Please put this date in your diary – Thursday 7th March 2019 – we will be celebrating World Book Day at Eversley. This year to celebrate we would like to ask you for the donation of a new (or in new condition) book for your child’s class reading area. Please encourage your child to dress up on that day as their favourite book character – for ideas follow this link https://www.worldbookday.com/dressing-up/ Many thanks in advance for your donations (you are welcome to bring in more than one book for your class if you wish!).

Young Voices Concert
Year 6 sung at the 02 Arena in London, with the Young Voices Choir, the largest choir in the world! They sung thirteen songs and were accompanied on stage by a band, dance group Urban Strides, Beau Dermott, a golden buzzer winner on Britain's Got Talent, Sharlene Hector, an established singer, and Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet fame! All the children and staff had a brilliant time and will be talking about it for a long time. We were very proud of you all, you have worked hard to learn all the songs and dance moves. Our parents had fantastic seats and in one of the photos you can see Tony Hadley singing to them! A night to remember for a lifetime! (Mrs Evans)
We would like to wish Grace (1M) a very Happy Birthday and thank you for donating a birthday book to your class.
Well done to the pupils who received a Thank You Certificate for making Eversley a better place by demonstrating one of our Eversley Values
House Point Winners this week are... Marconi
One of the areas the school is working hard to improve is the attendance of children at Eversley Primary School. The United Nation Convention on the rights of the child entitles them to a Right to Education (Article 28). If the attendance drops below 95%, this could potentially affect any future Ofsted judgement, as well as children missing vital learning
which reduces their chances of success.
Please help us to continue the upward trend by ensuring your child comes to school every day and on time.
The overall school attendance for this week has been 93.69%
