    Title One Day National Conference for the Presiding Officers of Federal/Provincial Anti-Corruption Courts and Accountability Courts

    Objectives Corruption and economic offences are the new genre of cases which have emerged as one of biggest challenges during past few years for the investigation agencies of ACE,NAB and FIA and also for judiciary. There exist in our country special courts which are endowed with this specialized task of adjudicating complex cases of corruption and of economic offences. In the category of programmes for presiding officers of special

    courts, this conference will bring together the presiding officers of special courts. The aim is to facilitate exchange of best practices among the judges presiding over the these courts and also to offer a forum to highlight the constraints faced by them and to look for the remedies.

    Objectives In the face of longstanding short comings and emerging challenges in the delivery of justice, the system of adjudication through which justice is delivered, needs to be strengthened.     Title One Day National Conference for the Presiding Officers of Family Courts

    Objectives Ensuring speedy disposal of cases undoubtedly, has been one of the important purposes underlying establishment of family courts in Pakistan. In addition to above, another important objectives underlying establishment of family courts has been (i) to ensure congenial atmosphere to deal with the matters relating to marriage, divorce, child custody etc. and (ii) to mitigate the harshness of adversarial court process while dealing with family matters.

    To what extent family courts have been able to achieve the objectives with which they were brought into existence? Has it

    become possible to mitigate harshness of adversarial process in resolving family disputes? What are main challenges and constraints faced by the family courts in realizing the objectives of speedy and effective remedies to women in dealing with family matters?

    This programme, which invites presiding officers of family courts from different parts of the country, seeks to search answers for the above-mentioned questions. This conference will provide a forum to presiding officers of family courts to share views and express their problems with their counterparts. The aim is also to make them aware of the public perception of this special category of courts and to offer an opportunity to discuss ways and means to improve performance of these courts to meet the public expectations and to realize the objectives underlying their establishment.

    Objectives Intellectual Property Law and Cyber Laws are special areas with a fast changing impact of information technology. Cyber law is scattered in different pieces of legislation while it has both Civil and Criminal implications.     Divisional Level Judicial Education Programs

    Half Day Seminars after Friday Prayers have been planned to be organized at the

    Divisional Headquarters level to broaden the outreach of the Punjab Judicial Academy.

    Keeping in view the available resources, one program will be arranged in each month.

    Following Four Divisions will be covered in the first spell of the training calendar. Details

    of the Seminars/Lectures will be determined as per availability of resource persons.

    District & Sessions Judge at the Divisional Headquarters will assist the Academy to

    organize the Half Day Seminars by providing logistical support.

    26 September 2014 Gujranwala Division

    10 October 2014 Bahawalpur Division

    14 November 2014 Multan Division

    12 December 2014 D.G. Khan Division
