• Studying very independent• Lectures begin 15 past and exams on the hour• Freedom vs responsibility• Low hierarchy – communication very informal

• Professors called by their first names, but Finns are verygood at avoiding the use of names when addressingpeople.

• The academic semester is divided in to two teachingperiods, 1 &2 during Autumn semester and 3 & 4 duringSpring semester.

• Recommended amount of ECTS credits per period are 15, per semester 30 and per academic year 60. Always check requirements with your home university!
