Autodromo di Modena is proud to present an exciting joint venture between Italy and Australia, molding the dynamic worlds of contemporary art and motorsports. Autodromo di Modena, the most recent addition to the proud heritage of Italian racing, hosts an exhibition by Australian artist Jasper Knight. Coinciding with the ‘Night of Motors’, when the town of Modena will celebrate its racing tradition, Knight will use a car as his canvas in a performance to officially open an exhibition of new works at the racetrack.

Sydney-based Knight is one of Australia’s most successful young artists. Through his work Knight explores the relationship between material and subject, the constructed object and the painted surface, working across various media from painting to installation and sculpture. What links these works is his distinctive collage-like approach. He is an heir to the post-Pop artists, reveling in artifacts of contemporary industrial design, motorsport and highway architecture.
