Get registered: Login at bcidaho.com/medicare, use the “Register Now” link if you haven’t yet registered on the site. On the member home page find the “Pharmacy Benefits” link in the Insurance Tools section. Choose “Ok” to access the pharmacy benefits portal and follow the simple registration instructions.

You’re in: After this initial login, the Pharmacy Benefits portal will be part of your ongoing online experience—no additional login required.

See how close you are to the Gap or “Donut Hole.” Find Savings and Opportunities lets you view your spending to date. This can help you manage your costs relative to the Medicare prescription coverage gap. Just select “Track Your Rx Spend” to see your current total, potential savings and to build and print an Rx report.

GET TO KNOW YOUR PHARMACY BENEFITS

= Find the exact cost of your medications. The Understand My Plan and Benefits tool lets you enter the name of your medication to check exactly what you’ll pay at the pharmacy. The site chooses the pharmacy closest to your home or the one you’ve used most recently. You can also choose other pharmacies to compare prices. You’ll see the cost for one prescription as well as annual costs. The site also provides cost information if generics are available.

Learn more about your meds. Want to know more about the medications you’re taking and possible interactions? Or maybe you found a pill in your medication organizer that doesn’t look familiar? Click on the Learn About Medications tab and then “Drug Reference and Interactions” to look up any prescription medication. You’ll find information on interactions, pictures of medications, potential side effects and usage. You can also look for medication based on its appearance. You can find basic details on over-the-counter medicines, too.

= Contact a pharmacist. In addition to a “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)” section, you can ask a pharmacist a question by email. Your question is sent directly to a pharmacist who will respond personally and confidentially to you within two business days.

- Claims, explanation of Benefits (eOBs) and Coverage View your claims history, EOBs and coverage details such as deductibles and maximums. This is a great place to see the Medicare allowable amounts for your services. Also, check prior authorizations, hospital admissions and details of your benefits. It’s an easy way to keep track of your benefits and services—no paper required.

- Pharmacy Benefits This tool lets you check the cost of medications, track your spending, learn about your medications and more. See page 4 for details.

- Itemized Claims Need more detail? View and save or print a PDF of itemized claims.

back pain is one of the most common ailments among adults. it can vary in intensity and

duration and range from dull and constant to sudden and sharp. back pain can start quickly if you fall or lift something wrong or it can start small and get slowly worse. because of the variety of treatment options, getting the right help can be confusing.

that’s why we developed the blue cross of idaho spine centers of excellence program.

Program participants start by working with a physiatrist, a doctor who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation to treat and prevent pain. the physiatrist, along with other healthcare professionals, create an

individualized treatment plan to deliver just the right care for you.

as part of the program, you also work with a blue cross of idaho wellness coach on a regular basis. Your wellness coach will provide advice, education resources, support and direction to go along with your physiatrist’s plan.

You do not need a referral to see a contracting physiatrist, but customer service can help you find a provider in your area and schedule your first appointment.
