MobileHelp
Medical Alert
About
MobileHelp is a leading provider of Mobile Personal Emergency Response Systems (M-PERS) and serves customers nationwide in all 50 states. Among their best products include the DUO which is the first of it’s kind and is a “fully integrated” medical alert system that comes equipped with GSM/GPS technology so that their customers can rest easy knowing help is only a push of a button away. MobileHelp is also a provider of Caregiver Tools which provides a thorough tracking platform for caregivers to help monitor those in their care while keeping track of medications and important appointments.
Services
• They’re the first company of its kind to offer mobile alert systems that are equipped with a GPS that allows their customers the freedom to travel while still being protected by their medical alert system.
• A 30 day money-back guarantee is offered with all of their systems.
• No contracts
• 24/7, year round monitoring centers from fully trained ACE (Alarm Company Employee) Certified operators.
FAQ Page
Their FAQ page covers questions such as:
• “How does it work outside my home?” • “Do I need a dedicated home phone land line to use your medical alert system?” • “How far away from the Base Station do the pendant and wrist button work?” • “Do you offer month-to-month service?” • “Is there a penalty for early cancellation?” • “How do I specify my Emergency Contacts?”
The FAQ page covers dozens of questions regarding the products themselves, services offered and on the monitoring center and company as a whole.
Cost of Services
Prices vary depending on which plan the customer chooses. There are annual plans, quarterly plans and monthly plans for both the mobile alert system and the home alert system. The prices are as follows: Home Plans: Monthly: $34.95 a month Quarterly: $32.95 a month Annual: $29.95 a month Mobile Plans: Monthly: $41.95 a month Quarterly Plan: $39.95 a month Annual Plan: $36.95 a month
BBB Rating
MobileHelp has been an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau since 2009 and holds an “A” rating. They have had 6 complaints filed against them in the past three years regarding some product issues and an advertising complaint, but they have responded to all of the complaints and resolved them in a timely manner. Other reasons for their high rating include their length of time in business and the sufficient background information that the BBB has on the company.
Additional Resources
The website also offers lots of customer testimonials, a “News” section where all the news links, videos and stories mentioning MobileHelp and there services are available. A “MobileHelp Connect” page is available for clients to login to directly and access their account. They also have a legal section with all their user agreements available, their return policy and their terms and conditions, and full profiles on all of the members of their “Executive Team” including a biography on the CEO, the Chairman, the COO, the CTO, the CFO and the Founder & Board Member. They also host a blog with articles such as, “Aging in Place and Choosing Care When Needed: A Resource List” and “Not All Medical Alarm Systems Are The Same” to name a couple.
Who Are Their Customers
Their customers include the children of senior citizens who are looking to provide greater safety and well-being to their aging parents as well as the senior citizen customer who wants to continue to enjoy as much independence as possible. They want those customers to not have to worry about what will happen if/when they injure themselves.
How Their Customers Rate Them
Though TheBestCompanys.com doesn’t yet have an overall customer rating for this company, MobileHelp has a plethora of customer testimonials available on their website. Of course any company is going to post the positive feedback they’re received as opposed to the negative, but MobileHelp does seem to have a solid reputation for good products and services as their BBB rating and testimonials help to show.
What Makes Them Stand Out?
MobileHelp stands out as the very first Mobile Medical Alert System provider to create a medical alert system that comes with a GPS so that customers can travel and still have the ability to reach the Monitoring Center even if they’re far from home. The fact that they post profiles on their executive team members helps to put faces to those who are running the company and gives customers a better sense of why they can trust MobileHelp with their business as well as their well-being.
Social Media Presence
MobileHelp has a social media presence on Facebook as well as Twitter and they are regularly active on both. They have several hundred followers on both social media platforms, not a ton, but a significant amount considering their audience is a group of people who are probably least likely to be heavily engaged in social media in any form.
Ranking With TBC
TheBestCompanys.com ranks MobileHelp as a 7.2 out of 10 for their length of time as a reputable company, their unique services in the industry and their 24/7/365 customer service care center for their clients. Their relatively high rating is also due to a reasonable price for their products and services, a free activation fee, no contract requirement, and 1 year warranty.
Potential Negatives
Some potential negatives for many prospective customers include MobileHelps ability to only serve those who reside in areas that are covered by the AT&T network. AT&T’s coverage is quite broad but there are some who live out of range and won’t be able to benefit from MobileHelp services in their area. “False Alarms” (if the button is pushed accidentally and emergency help is sent nonetheless) will result in charges that clients are expected to pay. That’s something to keep in mind when considering MobileHelp as a service provider.
