This reduces the procurement burden on agencies and suppliers by reducing the number of approaches to market and, allows for price savings through volume discounts. Multi-agency access contracts - or 'piggyback' contracts - differ to whole of government contracting and also from clustering contracting, where agencies pool their requirements prior to approaching the market. In contrast, 'piggybacking' is where one agency has established an arrangement and has made the arrangement available to other agencies. Piggybacking requires agencies to accept the terms and conditions of the existing contract. Finding piggyback clauses To find procurement arrangements that include a Piggyback clause, use the NSW eTendering – advanced search function by selecting the magnifying glass on the top right of the page. Finding piggyback clausesTo find procurement arrangements that include a Piggyback clause, use the NSW eTendering – advanced search function by selecting the magnifying glass on the top right of the page.

Both the keyword and the advanced search options are displayed. Click Advanced Search.

Select either the Contract Award Notices or the Standing Offer Notices option.

Set the agency requirements and then click Proceed to Step 2.

Complete the available fields to narrow the search returns. Ensure that Yes is selected in the With ‘Piggyback’ clause only field.

NSW eTendering – Multi agency access (piggyback) clause

The results can be downloaded and include the agency name, arrangement title & description, arrangement period, category and the contract award notice/standing offer notices ID, all of which can be searched, sorted and filtered.

By entering the contract award notice/standing offer notice ID in the Keyword or ID search field, you can access the full details of the procurement arrangement including the agency contact person, phone number and email address.
