November is Foundation Month: Doing Good in the World
This week we welcome Jin (JIM) Yi; this is Jim’s second visit to our club. He was at the
Essendon Rotary Club 20 years ago. So what happened to Jim all those years?
Jim has been living in Australia all these years, studied and fulfilled a PhD at Melbourne in
Chinese culture, Married an Australian wife and has a son who is currently a teenager.
Jim spoke about his life in Australia and compared it to his own country. There was a vast
difference in the freedom of choice, the quality of life and the opportunities in Australia.
Made you feel again and again that we are living in the best country in the world.
At our meeting today Mark Skimmer visited our club with a presentation of our Certificate
from the Rotary Foundation for our contribution to the Polio Plus. We have exceeded our
pledge by $19000.

The Four Way Test
Rotary’s Four Way Test was written by Chicago Rotarian Herbert J Taylor (RI
President 1954-55) in 1932. The test contains the following four questions to
apply to things we think, say or do:
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
