We continue to roll with the changing environment and I’d like to thank our parents and carers for your continued support at this time. This week saw us asking that you drop off and pick up children without entering classrooms. I have no doubt that as we progress through the year there will be other changes and adaptations we will need to make. We will always endeavour to inform families of these changes as soon as possible. We will continue to make use of our website and Facebook pages, SMS messages and Connect. A reminder that this is a paperless newsletter and you are able to access it on our website and through Connect. If you are not a part of our Connect Community I urge you to make contact with your class teacher to get involved. It’s a great way to keep in touch. All you need is an email address. There is an App you can easily download on your phone for quick access. At the end of each semester you will also receive your child’s report through Connect. With changes to access on our school sites we will be looking at how to hold our class meetings using other media sources. Class teachers will be in contact in coming weeks to invite you along to these online events. These meetings will still be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and hear about organisation and programs specific to your child’s class. We encourage a very close partnership between home and school to work together to achieve positive outcomes for the children. We look forward to working with you and your children this year. As an Independent Public School we have a School Board that meets each term to discuss school processes and events. This year we will be hoping to hold these meetings online with our first meeting scheduled for later this term. The P&C does an amazing job of supporting the school through fundraising and supporting our school community. Meetings are usually held once or twice per term. Our current committee is endeavouring to continue their efforts with meetings off the school site. Getting involved in the P&C is a great way to meet other parents whilst also helping the Language Centre. You can make contact with our President, details are in this newsletter. I look forward to working with all of our families this year. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, Ronnie O’Neil Principal

environment and I’d like to thank our parents and carers for your continued support at

this time. This week saw us asking that you drop off and pick up children without entering

classrooms. I have no doubt that as we progress through the year there will be other

changes and adaptations we will need to make. We will always endeavour to inform

families of these changes as soon as possible. We will continue to make use of our

website and Facebook pages, SMS messages and Connect.

The P&C will remain in the background with our existing team of dedicated parents which I'm thankful to work alongside. Our meetings will be held offsite or via Zoom abiding by our CV19 regulations. We most definitely welcome any new members, so please contact me for any questions you may have. I'd like to thank Veronica, the Deputy Principals, teachers, aides and admin staff for continuing to work hard under these challenging times ahead. We are all doing the best we can, everyone has showed up to keep the little ones learning, for that we thank you. Kind regards Sofia Ietto-Conti SEMLDC P&C President Mob: 0412 291 435

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

At South East Language Development Centre, the students use different apps on the ipads and some computer

programs to enhance their learning. The Department of Education has asked all schools to review the range of

websites and apps that children use whilst at school. Parents need to give permission for their child to use these

apps and services at school.

This permission will be valid until your child leaves South East Language Development Centre.

To give or decline consent, please follow this link or scan the QR code :

Waste Wise News

Waste Wise Notice Our classes are planning Waste Free Wednesday every Wednesday. We are

encouraging our students and school community to reduce the amount of

waste we produce. A waste free lunch box contains no throwaway

packaging.

It also reduces the amount of litter, as there is less waste to become litter.

The typical homemade zero waste lunch is:

Packed in a lunch box.

Food is put in reusable containers rather than wrapped in disposable packaging.

Drinks are in a refillable bottle.

All containers are resealable, so that leftover food and drink can be saved for later.

All students who bring in a waste free lunch box will receive a raffle ticket and go into a draw to

win a prize at the end of the term!

A note from Cloverdale Dental Therapy Centre
