Page 1 Communication – Pick up and Buses During the early stages of this term we have had a couple of incidents where due to tight timeframes in the afternoon, our wonderful office/admin staff have received calls close to the 3.00pm bell time and have found it difficult to relay messages to students in class regarding a change in circumstances to the way the child is to travel home. This may have meant that a bus has been missed or someone has walked home when they were to be picked up. To ensure that your child receives their message in time, we ask that calls are made to the school prior to 2.00pm where possible. This will guarantee that the message is received and your childs safety is maintained. Education Week Open Day Thank you so much to everyone who came along to see whats happening in our classes and to join in with the range of activities on offer from cooking, creating slime & playdough, arts & crafts and coding, engineering & robotics. We hope you got a bit of a taste of the great fun your children have while learning in class with our committed and enthusiastic staff. LNC PSSA Zone Athletics Carnival We have four students travelling to Wauchope this Friday to take part in the LNC PSSA Zone Athletics Carnival. Good luck to Shanoma, Clint, Cody and Darryle. Our students featured in a number of acts included the MPS Massed Choir, singing & dancing acts and the MPS Massed Drummers. A big thank you to Mrs Nasner (drumming) and Miss Arnell (choir) for the time and effort they put into preparing their groups to perform extremely well as part of Community of Schools acts and an enormous amount of gratitude goes to Mrs Hudson for preparing a couple of acts to represent our school as well as the time she gave up to be a part of the Musical Festival organising committee. Were very fortunate to have such dedicated teachers as these three working with your children every day at KSPS. Congratulations to all students who took part on the night. You absolutely shone and were phenomenal ambassadors for our school. Everyone is very proud of your efforts!

The Coffs Coast Adventure Camp is 4 weeks away. All Medical forms and money need to be paid by 23rd August. If you are experiencing any finan-cial difficulties please make an appointment with Mr Byrne at the office.

COLOUR EXPLOSION Fundraising forms have gone out for our 2019 Col-our Explosion. The Colour Explosion is a re-imagining of the Footy Fun Day, designed as a fun and inclusive way for our students to have a great time while raising money for the Paul Davis-Welsh fund. All monies raised will be used to support elite ath-letes who earn the privilege of representing their school and district at high level sporting carnivals and fixtures. All participating students will receive wrist bands, fruit icy pole and a UV 400 pair of sunglasses. Stu-dents need to bring along an old shirt to wear for the event. Entry is free to fund raisers or just $5 (to cover costs) for students who do not wish to fund-raise. Last year we raised $5000 which has subsidised excursions and school camps.

P&C MEETINGS

Kempsey South Public School will be holding our regular P&C Meetings on the last Wednesday of every month. The next meeting will be Wednesday 28th at 2.15pm. We are trialling an early start so parents/carers can attend while children are in class. All parents, carers and community members are invited to attend. We encourage new parents to join us. The P&C provides a way to become involved in the school community as it fosters community spirit, friendship and gives support to the school and students. If you have any questions please call us on 65 627 033.
