Luke 2:10-11 Pray for all the finalisation that needs to be done for 2016 classes, staff and schedules. Pray for all students, families and staff as we approach the busy end of the year. Give thanks for God's blessings to us throughout 2015. Give thanks for all the new enrolments for 2016. A message from Mr Lainson “But love your enemies, do good to them… Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:35 – 36) “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:12 – 13) Our God is a God of mercy. Words oſten associated with mercy include compassion, pity, sympathy and empathy. To show someone mercy is to have compassion on them, to walk in their shoes, even though it is within one’s power to punish, judge, or ignore them. God’s greatest act of mercy came in his son, Jesus Christ, who came to earth as a man. Jesus understands suffering and temptation, because he lived it. We are to be merciful because we know what it means to have our sins dealt with on the cross. We are to be merciful, because we have been shown mercy. Christmas is fast approaching and as Christians we understand that it is not just about a baby in a manager but the birth of a saviour, God’s demonstration of his love, compassion and mercy to us.
