Peter Freire , son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Freire of Firdale road , was taken to Long Island Jewish hospital in New Hyde Park fol- lowing an automobile accident. He remained on the critical list for severa l days. Mrs. Philip Huns , Sr., and her children have returned to the Lake after spending the summer months at their farm in West- minister, Md. Mr. Hans commut- ed between Westminister and the Lake during the summer. Peter Browne , young son of Mr. and Mrs . James Browne of Church street , has enlisted in the Marine corps. Peter was gradu- ated from Seton hall last June. The foundation for the Bohack store in the Lake village has been completed. v The Free library on Hawkins avenue will remain on summer schedule until November 1. A - plea for funds to supplement state aid has been sent out. Many improvements have been added to the library during the past year and more funds are needed to continue with improvements and purchase new books. Peter Freire, son of Mr. andMrs. Jose Freire of Firdale road,was taken to Long Island Jewishhospital in New Hyde Park fol-lowing an automobile accident.He remained on the critical listfor severa l days.

Mrs. Philip Huns, Sr., and her

children have returned to theLake after spending the summermonths at their farm in West-minister, Md. Mr. Hans commut-ed between Westminister and theLake during the summer.

Peter Browne, young son ofMr. and Mrs. James Browne ofChurch street, has enlisted in theMarine corps. Peter was gradu-ated from Seton hall last June.

The foundation for the Bohackstore in the Lake village has beencompleted. v

The Free library on Hawkinsavenue will remain on summerschedule until November 1. A-plea for funds to supplementstate aid has been sent out. Manyimprovements have been addedto the library during the pastyear and more funds are neededto continue with improvementsand purchase new books. Checksfor this purpose may be mailedto Walter Zakary, Lake Shoredrive, Ronkonkoma.

Home Accident ClinicPlanned at Meeting

Initial plans for a countywideconference on home accident pre-vention in Suffolk county weredeveloped last Thursday underthe auspices of the Suffolk CountyHealth department at a meetingof a newly-formed program plan-ning committee on home safety,Dr. Philip J. Rafle, health com-missioner, announced this week.

The conference, which will fea-ture one ov two presentations bynationally prominent persons withbroad experience in home accidentprevention at the local communitylevel, is intended to serve as thestarting point of a long range com-munity-centered home safety ed-ucational program under the direc-tion and coordination of the Suf-folk Health d-.-paitment.

The conference is expected tobe held about the middle of Novem-ber. Steps are being taken to selectthe speakers and a suitable loca-tion for the conference.
