NEWS AND EVENTS
Dear Friends,
I am always amazed of God’s presence in our lives. All things that happen in our lives happen for a reason. Some-
times the most difficult thing is to find the reason. God comes to meet us in all the situations of our lives. There is
not a day I do not thank God for making me the person I am. We are built on our past, strengthened in the present
and motivated by our future. God is the owner of the past, the present and the future. We cannot get discouraged
because God is always with us in all the circumstances of our lives. The invitation is to let God help us, and by
spending time with him in prayer. That is what strengthens me. As someone said: “Those who leave everything in
God’s hand will eventually see God’s hand in everything.”
On the other hand, God puts us in each others lives to be his hands. With that in mind, I am looking for volunteers
to help me to build up the “Good Samaritan Ministry.” This group of Samaritans will bring cooked food to the
homebound parishioners. This does not happen all the time. For instance, we were contacted this week by some-
one asking if the parish could send volunteers to bring food to a 91 year old woman who does not have family to
take care of her. She has an aid, but her aid is sick. Although we want to send someone, we do not have the volun-
teers to do so. I am appealing for your consideration to join this ministry. Volunteers would bring cooked food and
spend a little bit of time with the homebound person. In that way, the volunteer becomes the hands of God.
Thank you!
Have a good weekend
Fr. Carlos Briceño
