2013 Anual Report 1
2013 was a year of great accomplishments as the Newburyport Education Foundation (NEF) once again targeted projects with strategic impact throughout the Newburyport Public Schools. Thanks to our generous supporters, we completed our 2011-2013 Campaign with $802,897 of resources invested directly in our schools!
Building on this success, at the end of 2013 we launched a new one-year campaign for the Nock/Molin auditorium renovation: “Lights- Sound-Action!”
There is still great work to be done and we need your continued support. Please learn more about our current campaigns, our upcoming fundraisers, and more at www.NewburyportEF.org. Thank you for supporting the NEF and the Newburyport Public Schools.

2013 Anual Report 3
The Ed Award for excellence in education is given annually to recognize individuals or organizations in the community whose leadership and support have raised the level of excellence in the Newburyport Public Schools.
2013 Ed Award Honorees: Claude & Laura Elias
At the end of 2013, the NEF launched a one-year campaign to raise $200,000 for lights, sound equipment, and curtains for the Nock/Molin Auditorium to coincide with renovations scheduled for completion Fall, 2014. With the renovations at Nock/Molin, the auditorium got a tremendous face lift, but lights, sound equipment and curtains were not included in the budget. Not only will the auditorium be a valuable resource for grades 4-8 and improve their learning environment, it will be a premier performance space for the entire community. We hope you will continue to support the NEF and this worthwhile effort.
Claude and Laura Elias, 2013 Ed Award recipients, are supportive parents and instrumental in fundraising for the schools through their restaurant, Oregano Pizzeria and Ristorante.

Through the NEF Make Your Mark Recognition Campaign, donors can name a room at the Newburyport High School, R.A. Nock Middle and Molin Upper Elementary schools, or at the Frances T. Bresnahan Elementary School to create a lasting tribute or memorial. Naming opportunities range from $2,500 to $100,000. The NEF Save Your Seat Program offers donors the opportunity to name a seat in an auditorium with a donation of $100. Please contact us to discuss opportunities for us to recognize your gift.
The Lights-Sound-Action! Campaign is a one-year campaign to raise $200,000 for the purchase and installation of lights, sound equipment, and curtains in the Molin/Nock Auditorium. Timed to coincide with the renovations at Molin/Nock, to be competed Fall 2014, the purchase of lights, sound equipment and curtains equips the newly refurbished auditorium with items not in the renovation. The focus on performing arts is part of the NEF’s ongoing effort to renew and enhance technology in the Newburyport Public Schools and positively impact the student experience. The auditorium will be a valuable resource for grades 4-8 as well as a premier performance space for the entire community.
Make a gift to support the NEF and its current campaigns for the Newburyport Public Schools using our secure credit card site at www.NewburyportEF.org. Donations can also be mailed to Newburyport Education Foundation, P.O. Box 1002, Newburyport, MA 01950. The Newburyport Education Foundation is an incorporated 501(c)3 organization (FIN: 04-3583906), and gifts are tax deductible. For more information, contact us [email protected] or (978)463-7893.
