DESIGNThe new Yeti is for the fi rst time available in two distinct styles. Each has its own 'face', designed in the spirit of ŠKODA's new design language.

The Yeti looks sporty and sleek, with its bumpers, side sills and mouldings all in body colour. In contrast, the Yeti 4x4 Outdoor is visibly more rugged and ready for off-roading, its strong presence a result of its newly designed front and rear bumpers and black body-styling.

The Yeti is defi ned by its combination of striking design and uncompromising functionality. Its bold and sophisticated new look, with sharp angles and clean lines, newly-designed headlights and the new ŠKODA logo, all hint at the Yeti's remarkable on and off-road capabilities.

Yeti

The stylish Yeti, available in Active and Ambition variants, is the ideal family vehicle for the city. Perfect visibility will give you a pleasant feeling and confi dence behind the wheel; something which is invaluable in city traffi c. As a compact SUV, the Yeti also enables you to park in limited spaces.

The distinctive yet practical design of the Yeti distinguishes itself with features including body-coloured lower bumpers (front and rear) and door sills, as well the unique honeycomb grille on the front bumper. Roof rails come in either Black (for Active) or Silver (for Ambition). Both the Yeti Active and Ambition feature 17" alloy wheels (pictured are the 17" Scudo alloy wheels; standard on Active).

The rugged exterior of the Yeti 4x4 Outdoor hints at its off-road capabilities by unique features such as the silver roof rails (with black endings), silver side mirrors, black lower bumpers (front and rear) and vertical fi ns in the front bumper. This is further enhanced by the 17" Matterhorn alloy wheels (pictured; as part of the optional Off-road Pack).

The 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel allows full control of the Bluetooth® phone and audio streaming, as well as the control of the trip computer functionalities and vehicle status.

If you want to greatly reduce the stress of parking, then the Automatic Parking Assist is a great feature. It will select an appropriate parking place, park in a row of parallel or perpendicular parked vehicles, and can even drive out of a row of parallel parked vehicles. When parallel parking, it only needs a space 60 cm longer than the car itself (pictured is the Automatic Parking Assistant on the multifunctional display, available in Tech Pack).

In addition to maintaining the preselected speed, cruise control enables you to increase or reduce speed without using the pedals. This function is controlled the button on the side of the left indicator stalk.

A new standard feature on all Yeti models is the KESSY system (Keyless Entry, Start and exit System), which enables you to use the car without using your key. To switch the engine on and off you simply use the Start/Stop button.

Available in the Off-road pack, the double-sided carpet is a great addition to the Rapid. The standard carpet fabric can be used for transporting everyday goods such as groceries. The mat can be easily fl ipped to a washable, heavy-duty rubber for transporting more rugged equipment such as sports gear.

As part of the Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor, the removable LED torch in the luggage compartment can come

in handy when driving at night and during other circumstances. When

clipped in, it automatically recharges while the engine is running.

The Amundsen audio unit controlled via 5" touchscreen display, has a CD player, SD-card slot, USB, Bluetooth® compatibility. Furthermore, as parking sensors (rear for Active; front and rear for Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor) and rear view camera are standard across all models, the audio and visual signals are also clearly displayed on the screen.

In addition to the features of the Amundsen, the Columbus navigation features a 6.5" touch-screen display and voice command function, while intuitive swiping and pinching movements allow the user to scroll menus and zoom into maps easily.

Standard on the Yeti Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor, dual-zone Climatronic air-conditioning allows the driver and front seat passenger to set different temperatures for optimal comfort while the humidity sensor directs air fl ow as required, to keep the windscreen fog free.

For even easier parking, the Yeti is equipped with a rear-view camera located on the boot handle. It monitors the space behind the car and indicating the driving lines, based on the vehicle width.

Both Yeti Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor are equipped with height-adjustable halogen headlights. As part of the optional Tech Pack, these can be enhanced with Bi-Xenon headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front Light System) and LED daytime running lights.

The rear lights, with double C-shaped illumination, can be equipped with high-power LED diodes, which function as running and brake lights (available in the Tech Pack).

The rear bumper on both models is unique in appearance - a discrete silver cover for the Yeti and a more robust and protective

silver covering for the 4x4 Outdoor.

Overall, the rear design have many features that are typical of the new ŠKODA brand: the new logo, ŠKODA lettering and model name,

the triangular recesses defi ning the space for the number plate and the longitudinal

refl ectors for better visibility of the car.

The tinted, electric panoramic sunroof gives you the feeling of unlimited space and freedom. The front part of the sunroof can be tilted up and slid backwards, whilst the rear part is fi rmly built into the roof. The entire sunroof is also equipped with an electrically-adjustable sun blind cover.

For those who seek more adventure and want to delve away from the city streets, the 4x4 Outdoor can be equipped with an optional Off-road Pack that can be added to further your 4x4 experience.

A feature of this pack is the Off-road assist, consisting of both hill descent and start-up assist, which can be activated by the push of a button. The hill descent assist allows the adaptation of systems such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) and EDS (Electronic Differential Lock) to the driving conditions and a more sensitive setting of the of the acceleration pedal. In addition, the start-up assist is benefi cial for manoeuvring up a hill. The Off-road mode is active upon pressing of the button for speeds up to 30 km/h. The Off-Road mode of the ABS brake assistance remains active up to 50 km/h.

The combination of the innovative 4x4 technology and the Volkswagen Group 6-speed DSG gearbox allows for maximum performance from the 103TSI diesel platform, whilst remaining fuel-effi cient at 6.7L/100km*.

The 4x4 drivetrain is provided by a 5th generation inter-axle Haldex clutch. The coupling of the rear axle is automatic, so under normal conditions the car can utilise the advantages of the front-wheel drive, and under extreme conditions, the excellent traction of the 4-wheel drive.

As standard on both Yeti and 4x4 Outdoor, the VarioFlex rear seating system allows you to customise the interior according to your specifi c needs, enabling a variety of seating options for maximum comfort and luggage space. The three independent rear seats not only fold down but can also be easily removed.

SPACE

Fold down the center rear seat to fi t in longer items, or simply use the useful table located on the back of the seat.

The net system, which prevents items from shifting, offers several layout options.

Hidden within the Yeti's compact design is exceptional luggage space. All variants boast 321 litres of space, easily accessible through the large boot opening. This phenomenal space becomes cavernous with the rear seats folded down, expanding to 1485 litres and 1665 litres with the seats removed.

On closer inspection, the interior cabin reveals many storage spaces and compartments; synonymous with

the "Simply Clever" ideology.

The sunglass holder is located in the roof panel above the interior rear-view mirror, so the driver always has his sunglasses or driving spectacles within reach. Available in Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor.

The closed storage compartment beside the front passenger is air conditioned, so you will have pleasantly cool drinks during your trip.

On Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor the storage compartment for small items in the upper part of the instrument panel can be easily opened by touching the lid.

The parking ticket holder on the edge of the windscreen is a practical detail that will ensure that your parking ticket is always in a highly visible location.

If you want to take some refreshments with you on your trip, you will surely welcome the cup holder on the centre console.

Whether on your daily drive to work or in pursuit of adventure, the Yeti provides you with maximum safety. In addition to excellent road holding, which can also be credited to advanced systems such as ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) and EBD (Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution), the Yeti has many passive safety features, whose task is to protect the passengers in extreme situations.

Should an impact occur, the driver and front

passenger airbags activate in conjunction

with the front seat belt pretensioners. This will

anchor you in the middle of the seat and cushion

you to reduce injury.

The driver knee airbag prevents contact with the lower part of the dashboard in the event of a collision.

The front side airbags protect the pelvis and chest of the driver and passenger in the event of a side collision. The height-adjustable front headrests are designed to protect the neck in case of a rear impact.

The curtain airbags, which create a “wall” along the side windows when activated, protect passengers’ heads in the front and rear.

The Active is offered in black fabric upholstery and black dashboard with silver trim. The entry model also includes a host of technology and comfort features as standard, including 3-Spoke multi-functional leather steering wheel, 5" touch-screen Amundsen audio unit, rear-view camera, rear parking sensors and Keyless Entry including Smart Start (KESSY).

The Ambition and 4x4 Outdoor interiors come with black fabric upholstery and black dashboard with silver trim. In addition to standard features on Active, the Ambitionand 4x4 Outdoor have front and rear parking sensors, 8 speakers, climate control air-conditioning, light assist, rain sensor and front fog lights as standard. Both have the option of leather appointed interior (pictured left).
