To apply for this role, you will:

• Be a proven cold lead, new business developer, great at building relationships and developing partnerships with decision makers at all levels

• Be highly accountable and proactive

• Have an excellent track record of at least four years in one or more of the following: Enterprise Sales, B2B SaaS or another subscription-based solution

• Be skilled in conceptual selling and be well versed in sales methodology such as MEDDIC, SPIN and/or Inbound Selling

• Be proficient at lead management, using cloud-based software such as Salesforce

• Specific experience selling background music and/ or other site specific or operational equipment and services into UK and global brands would be very useful

Internally, you’ll understand the importance of being a strong team player, familiar with using tools like Salesforce, Trello and Slack to track sales metrics, collaborate and communicate with colleagues.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

New Business Development ManagerBasic salary £45k - £55k depending on experiencePlus uncapped commission structure OTE circa £90k

THE COMPANY

Based in central London with a staff of 27 we currently have a global install base of 4,500 sites ranging from high street pubs and bars, family orientated restaurant chains, aspirational style bars and private members clubs to global hotel and retail groups.

We design bespoke music profiles and playlists to the bar and leisure, hospitality and retail sectors. This is delivered through the manufacture and supply of a range of digital music players and our social jukebox app, Secret DJ. All our products, playlists and app developments are” handmade” in-house.

In a recent customer survey, our clients agreed the reliability of our music players, the consistency of creating a bespoke brand sound and the functionality of our app, is what distinguishes c-burn from other providers.

C-Burn supports its core product offering with the provision of a premium music consultancy service, that provides special event and venue profiling, advice on music styling and branding and on-site music monitoring, appraisal and feedback.

In short, we help our clients customise their customer experience, by ensuring the playlists we design for them create the perfect atmosphere to match the time of day or year, their clientele or occasion. And that our clients have full control over their music either through our user-friendly players in their venues or remotely via our apps.

The role of New Business Development Manager is to consistently grow c-burn’s direct client base by selling our:

• Full range of digital music players

• Music consultancy services

• In House apps and downloadable music

To the bar, leisure, retail and hospitality sectors.

This role does not include account management, but does require the hand-over of new business to the account managers to be smooth, well communicated and thoroughly documented.

• To successfully grow and expand our existing client base by securing new clients

• To particularly focus on securing multiple site chains and lead on company RFP’s

• To champion sales within C-Burn, especially gaining a deep knowledge of our marketplace and sharing that internally with our non-client facing staff

• To achieve income and unit sales targets

• Small chains or single sites do not fall into this role’s remit (this is targeted by the marketing team)

JOB PURPOSE

NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To identify, research and target large, multi-site new business clients

• To set up new business meetings to an agreed client group to present the portfolio of C-Burn’s products

• To develop incoming leads and monitor all conversion metrics as prospects proceed along the sales funnel

• To work closely with the marketing team to identify and target new clients via content led social media

• To follow up on the larger incoming leads generated via the marketing team

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT HAND-OVER

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

COMPANY SYSTEMS

• To ensure all new business handover (to the account managers) involves the client, so the client and the account manager have a professional introduction, are well informed on what success for the client looks like and are fully briefed on all aspects of the relationship

• Provide the account manager with a documented client account on Salesforce so all contacts, proposals, quotes, billing details or agreed timings etc. are already populated in the client’s record and are handover ready

• Ensure there is close attention to detail before handing over to colleagues to develop the account

• Liaise with music and production staff to ensure all information is correct before liaising with potential clients.

• Attend weekly sales meeting with the Managing Director

• Work closely with the marketing team to generate content ideas for targeted social media

• To provide client feedback to Research & Development

• Maintain and update C-Burn’s systems ensuring that all customer information is correctly entered into our central database

• To ensure that all sales are accurately recorded and logged with finance

• To maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with departmental strategy

• To provide the Managing Director with accurate reports detailing the status of key accounts and sales performance on a monthly basis

• Ensure all sales contracts are completed, signed and filed prior to distribution or installation

• Ability to be the sales ambassador internally, championing new business to colleagues so there is an increased understanding of what success looks like for clients to non-client facing staff

• Experience of selling web based or mobile technology
