DESCRIPTION

In May of each year, by law, a publication is released that lists potential properties that are at risk of being sold at tax auction. These properties that are listed are those properties that have a tax delinquency expanding five years or in some cases more.

NOTICE OF IMPENDING POWER TO SELL TAX-DEFAULTED PROPERTYMade pursuant to Section 3361, Revenue and Taxation Code

Pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section 3691, Notice is hereby given that real property taxes and assessments on the par-cels described below will have been defaulted for five or more years.

The parcels listed will become subject to the tax collector’s power to sell on July 1, 2012, at 12:01 a.m., by operation of law. The tax collector’s power to sell will arise unless the property is either redeemed or made subject to an installment plan of redemption initiated as provided by law prior to 5 p.m. on June 29, 2012. The right to an installment plan terminates on July 1, 2012, and after that date the entire balance due must be paid in full to prevent sale of the property at public auction.

The right of redemption survives the property becoming subject to the power to sell, but it terminates at 5 p.m. on the last business day before actual sale of property by the tax collector.

All information concerning redemption or the initiation of an installment plan of redemp-tion will be furnished, upon request, by Tina M. Vernon, Nevada County Tax Collector, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, CA 95959 or P.O. Box 128, Nevada City, CA 95959 or call 530-265-1285.

The amount to redeem is the amount of defaulted taxes, penalties that have accrued from the date of tax-default to the date of publication. This amount does not include other fees that have been accumulated due to impending power to sell. Contact the Tax Collector to ascertain the correct amount to redeem.

PARCEL NUMBERING SYSTEM EXPLANATION

The Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN), when used to describe property in this list, refers to the assessor’s map book, the map page, the block on the map, if applicable, and the indi-vidual parcel on the map page or in the block. The assessor’s maps and further explanation of the parcel numbering system are available in the assessor’s office.

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX DELINQUENCY AND IMPENDING DEFAULTMade Pursuant to Section 3351, Revenue and Taxation Code

I, Tina M. Vernon, Nevada County Tax Collector, State of California, certify as follows:

That at 12:01 a.m. on July 2, 2012, by operation of law, any real property (unless previously tax-defaulted and not redeemed) that have any delinquent taxes, assessments, or other charges levied for the fiscal year 2011-2012, and/or any delinquent supplemental taxes lev-ied prior to the fiscal year 2011 - 2012, shall be declared tax defaulted.

That a detailed list of all properties tax-de-faulted as of July 2, 2012, and not redeemed prior to being submitted for publication, shall be published on or before September 8, 2015.

That unless the property is completely redeemed through payment of all unpaid amounts, together with penalties and fees prescribed by law or an installment plan is initi-ated and maintained; the property will become tax-defaulted and may be subsequently sold at a tax sale.

That Information concerning redemption or the initiation of an installment plan of redemption of tax-defaulted property will be furnished, upon request, by Tina M.
