ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2020
THUMB PRINT ACTIVITY(LKG)
The art activities play a critical role towards cognitive development in early childhood and thumb print/finger print art is one such activity. It is a simple and fun activity which boost fine motor skills, creativity and imagination in kindergarteners. Children love pressing their fingers into paint and create cute and surprising shapes & images. In order to encourage the same a video on Hand Print Activity- ‘Put the thumb impression and complete the animals’, was posted in all the LKG class groups of NKG NSB on 1st December 2020. The teacher Mrs. Rekha Kuntal through a video explained & demonstrated the activity, step by step and children were encouraged to do this activity at home under parental guidance.

NAVY DAY CELEBRATION
The Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4th December to commemorate the
attack on the Karachi harbour during the India-Pakistan war in 1971. On this
day, the Indian Navy's attack on Karachi harbour contributed to the ultimate
victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan.
In order to explain the significance of Navy Day to our children, a video was posted to all the class groups of NKG NSB on 4th December 2020. The teacher in charge Mrs. Bharti Shivani, explained children that every year India celebrates December 4th as Navy Day to commemorate Operation Trident and further explained about the various events that take place during Navy Week. The video was meticulously supported by a skit on Operation Trident & clippings from students explaining various events like Operational Demonstration, Blood donation camps, opening of fleet ships to school children etc. At last children and their parents were appreciated for all the efforts taken and their contribution.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Christmas is the season of love, harmony and celebration. This is the time to
celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth. Although it is a festival for Christians but it is
celebrated all over the world with great joy.
On this special occasion, a video was presented to all the classes of NKG NSB
on 25th December 2020. The teacher in-charge Mrs. Asha Kumari through the
video aptly explained the importance of Christmas. She explained that the
true meaning of Christmas is to be generous and grateful in life. The highlight
of the video was a short skit on birth of Jesus & Christmas songs & dance
performance by our little kindergarteners. Along with this a “Thank you” note
was sent to the parents for their support and cooperation.

TEACHER STUDENT INTERACTION
The first Teacher-Student Interaction Session for the month was conducted
on 4th December 2020 Friday on MS Teams. The session was very interesting
this time, as all the teachers had planned an Art Attack Activity for the
children. Children were all excited and were ready with the material in hand.
During the session, they were explained about the magic of mixing primary
colours. Not only they were excited to mix the colours but surprisingly they
all came up with cute, colourful art work.

TEACHER STUDENT INTERACTION
The second Teacher-Student Interaction Session for the month was
conducted on 11th December 2020 Friday on MS Teams. It was a general
interaction about the academics. During the interaction, the LKG teachers
interacted over topics like Number recognition & writing number in
sequence, paper folding activity-fish, rhymes & picture talk etc. whereas UKG
teachers interacted over topics like the concept of ‘This’, akshar
identification, counting 1-100, number names, sight word reading & Public
Speaking etc.
STUDENT-TEACHER INTERACTION
(PRELIMINARY ROUND-ENGLISH STORY TELLING ACTIVITY)
The second Teacher-Student Interaction Session for the month was
conducted on 18th December 2020 Friday on MS Teams. This meeting was
specifically for conducting Hindi Story Telling preliminary round for both LKG
& UKG children.
ENGLISH STORY TELLING ACTIVITY
The sixth CCA Activity- English Story Telling Activity (Preliminary Round) for both LKG and UKG students was conducted on MS Teams on 18th December 2020. The parents were briefed on all the important aspects of the Activity in advance through a detailed circular. The Link to join the meeting was sent one day prior to the activity so that the parents could check if its functioning properly or not. The activity went smoothly and children enthusiastically participated in the activity. After the prelims, the shortlisted children were informed & were asked to send their video to the class teacher via mail/wats app and the same were sent to the judging teacher to make the Final judgement of winners.

COLLAGE ACTIVITY- WILD AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Collage is a simple craft activity that involves pasting items like cutouts of
papers or pictures onto a sheet of paper. The activity not only helps children
develop their eye-hand coordination & build fine motor skills but it also
encourages children to learn specific topics in a fun way.
With the objective to teach children about animals and help them identify the similarities & differences among wild and domestic animals a video on Collage Activity-Wild & domestic animals was posted to all the LKG classes of NKG NSB on 18th December 2020. The teacher in-charge Mrs. Rekha Kuntal started with a short presentation where she illustrated various Wild and Domestic animals. Children were explained about the difference between the two categories and the place where they live. In the later part of the video, the teacher demonstrated the collage activity using chart paper and encouraged children to do the same at home along with their parents.

VEGETABLE PRINT ACTIVITY(LKG) Vegetable Print Activity is a terrific & inexpensive way to introduce printmaking to the students. It improves their gross & fine motor skills and promotes individual expression and creativity. Children enjoy creating piece of artwork using new and different material. A video on “Vegetable Print Activity” was posted to all the LKG classes of KG NSB on 11th December 2020. The teacher in-charge Mrs. Puja explained children about the activity & demonstrated the activity using a craft paper and colours. Her instructions were simple, easy to learn and in a step by step process.

PASTE THE STRAWS ACTIVITY(UKG)
The basic idea of having a Straw activity for children is to ensure they learn
to re-use and re-purpose common items like straw or ice-cream sticks etc.
which we would normally throw away. Along with this the activity helps in
developing their fine motor skills and creative thinking.
In view of the same a colorful activity on paste the straws was posted to all
the UKG class groups of NKG NSB on 22nd December 2020. All the children
were encouraged to do the activity under the supervision of their parents.

BUILD THE DOG’S KENNEL WITH ICE CREM STICKS
Teaching children kindness & responsibility for pets and all animals, is an
invaluable lesson that encourages students to grow into empathetic
individuals. Building the kennel with ice-cream sticks helps in the
development of fine motor skills & encourages children to love their pets &
look after them.
In view of the above a video was posted to all the UKG class groups of NKG
NSB on 11th December 2020. The teacher in charge Mrs. Khusbu through her
video explained the activity in a simple & beautiful way. Later she
encouraged children to do the activity along with their parents.

FRUIT CHAAT ACTIVITY(LKG)
Life Skill Activity helps children build self-confidence, encourage critical
thinking & foster independence. Fruit Chaat Activity is one of the important
Life Skill Activity that teaches children to take care of their health.
In view of the above a video was posted to all the LKG class groups of NKG
NSB. The teacher in charge Mrs. Deepa explained children about the benefits
of having fruits everyday and demonstrate the activity in a step by step
process. Later children were encourage to try this activity with their parents.

CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR CARD MAKING ACTIVITY
Christmas is the season of love, harmony, and celebration. This is a particular
time to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth. This festival is celebrated all over the
world with great joy and happiness .And later in a week’s time New Year is
also celebrated.
So, keeping this in mind a video on Christmas & New Year card making Activity was posted to all the class groups of NKG NSB on 24th December 2020. The teacher in charge Mrs. Puja through the video demonstrated the card making activity in a simple step by step process and encouraged children to do this activity at home.
