• Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist believed that people have five types of needs which can be ranked in a hierarchy. According to him, an individual will be motivated to satisfy the need that is powerful enough to determine his behavior. When the certain need will be achieved it becomes powerless to motivate behavior, because the next higher level needs emerge and become the powerful motivator.
