Do I feel special? Do I feel called by God?

All of us who live share in the life of the Father, creator and sustainer of all life. More importantly, all of us who have been Baptized in Christ are servants of God, as sons and daughters, and sealed in the Holy Spirit.

Do I even think about my Baptism? What day was I Baptized? Am I grateful for the gift and mystery of my Baptism? Have I lived so as to make God pleased?

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS Classes continue today (Sunday), for K-7 at the usual time with grade 8 meeting from 5:30-6:45 pm in the Church Hall.

The GIFT CERTIFICATES that support Holy Rosary School and our other Diocesan schools will be available on Thursday from 8:00-10:00 am in the Church Hall.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS His Excellency, the Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton and the Office for Parish Life wish to invite couples celebrating their 25th or 50th Wedding

Anniversary in 2019 to a Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, June 30. The event includes a 2:30 pm Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral followed by a reception. Requests for an invitation, with a mailing address, should be made through Nativity’s office before April 2.

BLESSING OF HOMES Father John will begin blessing homes. Phone calls will be made before making the visit. Please note that home blessings are by request only – don’t assume that Father knows to come to your home. You can call the rectory to inform us of your request.

HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE Holy Rosary School invites you to their annual OPEN HOUSE on Sunday, January 27, from Noon to 2:00 pm for guided tours of the school as well las light refreshments. We welcome the devoted parishioners of Nativity to stop by to accept our gratitude for your unwavering support! We also invite all families who may be interested in Catholic education to visit Holy Rosary School on January 27 as we begin our annual Catholic Schools Week celebration. If you

HOLY REDEEMER NEWS Holy Redeemer High School grade 8 Placement/Scholarship Test Result Night and Registration Night for incoming freshmen will be held January 23 at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium (snow date January 24). Appointments for class scheduling for new students for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on February 7-11-12 from 3:00-6:00pm. VIRTUS: PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN FOR ADULTS Interested in supporting and protecting our children’s future? Then please consider attending the Diocesan-sponsored VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children for Adults Program to be held Sunday, January 27, at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Pittston. FEAST OF THE HOLY SPOUSES The Oblates of St. Joseph will host the Annual Feast of the Holy Spouses, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, on Sunday, January 20, with a special holy Mas at 3:00 pm at the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary, Route 315 in Laflin. Everyone is invited to attend especially all married couples and future married couples. The Holy Spouses lapel-pins will be distributed after the Mass. A light reception will follow in the Seminary Community Room for all to enjoy. A TRIDUUM (three days of prayer) will be held on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, January 17-18-19, with a Mass at 7:00 pm and novena prayers. The holy rosary and confessions will be before the Mass. Come early. You are invited to attend. Offer your personal petitions to the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph for your family.

DIOCESE ADDS NAMES TO LIST OF REDIBLY ACCUSED INDIVDUALS

Following the release of the Grand Jury report last year, Bishop Bambera made a promise that he would be more open and transparent in the way that the Diocese handles occurrences of child sexual abuse. That commitment remains true.

In August, the Diocese published on its website a list of all clergy, staff and volunteers who had been credibly accused of child sexual abuse. Since then, additional victims have come forward. Eleven new names have been added to the online list. Those new names are listed below. We will continue to alert you periodically in the case that additional individuals are added to this list.

If you are aware of additional allegations of wrongdoing or any information that should be included on this list, please contact our Victim Assistance Coordinator Mary Beth Pacuska at 570-862-7551 or Monsignor Thomas Muldowney, Vicar General, at 570-207-2269. If you have suffered abuse by clergy or anyone working on behalf of the Diocese, you are encouraged to contact Mary Beth Pacuska.
