STANFORD SETTLEMENT DONATIONS

NSM is currently excepting donations of food and toys on behalf of the Stanford Settlement Organization. Founded in 1936, Stanford

Settlement helps in building a healthy community through individual, family and neighborhood services. Donations can be

dropped off in the decorative box outside of the NSM Administration Office!

IMPORTANT DATES

• NSM will be closed December 24, 2018 thru January 1, 2019. Lessons will resume January 2, 2019.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Name: Daniel

Teacher: Mr. Luke

Daniel has been taking drum lessons at NSM since March 2017. Other than the drums, his other favorite instrument is the guitar.

Some of his favorite musicians are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linking Park, Nirvana, Queen, Lincoln Brewster, and music from the 80’s and 90’s.

In addition to playing drums, Daniel enjoys playing sports and traveling. One day he hopes to travel to Japan.

Since taking drums lessons, Daniel says he has acquired a better understanding of music, and thinks it’s cool to be the most important band member.

MUSIC FUNTIME CLASSES

Music Funtime Classes are a great way of introducing your child to music. The program is designed to teach children ages 2-7 how to read staff music, rhythm, note values, music appreciation along with learning to play instruments and musical games.

Classes are once a week for 30 minutes. There are currently openings available on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 and 6:00 pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. For more information contact the Administration Office.

MUSICAL LADDER RECIPIENTS Could your child use some motivation to practice? Check out our Musical Ladder System! Students are rewarded when they pass musical skill tests assigned by their teacher. There are different levels as they work their way up the musical ladder. As they climb the ladder they will receive certificates, wristbands, and trophies.
