Allegorical meaning: Europa represents the human soul and the bull is Christ, as a redeemer moving Europa from Earth (desires and misguided affections to which many of Ovid's protagonists succumb) to Paradise (Img11). - In some period, as in ‘600-’700, the Myth seems often to be without any deep meaning more used as an ornamental motif to reproduce even on different objects or tapestry. - During the XX Century, under the nazi-fascism period the myth was used for propaganda campaign, from both Mussolini and Hitler. - In the contemporary age the Myth has been again modified and adapted to nowadays, reflecting political and cultural changes of the continent. In some representations, the Myth recalls a world where the exotic is mixed to the global world and Europa is not the center of the planet anymore.
