SYMPLEX MULTIKON is a modular built system which can be built up bothas complete system (SYMPLEX MULTIKON- NCI) and subsystem(SYMPLEX SIMKON).

The inspection modules of SYMPLEX SIMKON are based on componentswhich are also used at the SYMPLEX MULTIKON-NCI. Merely the complexbottle handling can be abandoned.

The SYMPLEX SIMKON without bottle handling offers the followinginspections:

Herstellungsbedingt weist Floatglas an seinen beiden Oberflächen eineunterschiedliche chemische Zusammensetzung auf. Dies ist visuell nichtfeststellbar, führt aber zu unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften undunterschiedlichem Verhalten bei sehr vielen Bearbeitungs- undVeredelungsprozessen. Als Beispiele seien die Rißbildung undBenetzbarkeit sowie das Verhalten beim Aufbringen von Beschichtungenund beim Ionenaustausch, aber auch bei der Bauschlußreinigung vonEinscheibensicherheitsglas aufgeführt.




Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften der Glasoberflächen ist eserforderlich, die Seiten zu identifizieren, um insbesondere beiautomatisierten Herstellungsverfahren, bei denen Floatglas hergestellt bzw.weiter verarbeitet wird, eine optimale Qualitätssicherung zu erreichen.

Laboratory Redox Measurement by GS Rapidox IIYour problem - our solutionGS Rapidox II can be used for a variety of applications in the glassindustry including:Batch Redox control for the characterisation of "unknown" components,such as recycled cullet and filter dust, an aspect of importance to containerglass producers.Monitoring of the melting process by analysis of scoop samples taken fromthe melting tank, e.g. during a colour change of a container and a floatglass furnace.

Evaluation of the samples taken from the feeder and the final glassproducts, important in obtaining a stable forming process and for ensuringconsistent colour quality.

Measurements for:Container glass

GS Rapidox II has been successfully applied on a routine basis for measuring thereducing power of organic and other pollutants which may be present in thecullet.Values measured can be used to correct the batch "recipe" in order tostabilize the colour and fining of the melt.

Float glass

GS Rapidox II measurements can be of benefit in controlling the fining and foamingprocesses which take place during float glass melting. Oxygen partialpressure in glasses as a function of temperature relates to the addition offining agents such as sulphates and minor amounts of coke or blast furnaceslag.

Fiber glass

GS Rapidox II measurements can be of benefit in controlling foaming processes. Besidesthis the GS Rapidox II measurement can show the effects of different rawmaterials and scrap recycling on the radiative properties of the fibers during

the forming process and also fiber breakage.

Automatic transmission polariscope AP-06CPolariscope AP-06C is a computer controlled device designed for automaticstress measurement in solid and hollow axisymmetric glass products(drinking glasses, bottles, neck tubes of CRT bulbs, lamps, optical fibrepreforms, etc.). It permits also edge stress measurement in glass platesand automotive glazing, thickness stress measurement in strips cut outfrom glass plates, and measurement of stress at edge corners. Photoelasticmeasurements are completely automatic and take from 2 to 10 seconds.




After that stress distiribution in any section of the test object can bedisplayed on the screen. Diameter of the field of view is 70 mm. Themeasurement area can be easily displaced using the coordinate devicewith digital readout. Modern integrated photoelasticity algorithms are usedfor stress calculation from the measurement data. The polariscope can beused for stress measurement near the production line. Its handling does notneed any knowledge about photoelasticity or stress analysis. Thepolariscope is delivered together with a laptop computer and software tocontrol the measurements.

Flachglasscheiben unterschiedlichster Formate sollen

auf Kratzer, Knoten, Blasen und Beschichtungsfehler

untersucht werden. Die Prüfung soll direkt im Produktionsprozess

erfolgen.

Lösung

Die Bildaufnahme erfolgt mit einer über der Förderlinie

angebrachten Zeilenkamera. Je nach Anforderung können

auch mehrere Kameras nebeneinander eingesetzt

werden.

Die Glasfehler werden mit einer Linienbeleuchtung im

Durchlichtverfahren visualisiert. Für Spiegelglas und

einige Beschichtungen wird ein vergleichbares Auflichtverfahren

eingesetzt.

Mit einer Auflösung von 0,1 mm pro Bildpunkt können

alle mit dem Auge sichtbaren Glasfehler erkannt

werden. Für anspruchsvollere Anwendungen ist auch

eine höhere Genauigkeit wählbar.

Die Bildaufnahme erfolgt während der prozesstypischen

Förderung der Scheiben.

RetroscannerThe Retroscanner is a a telecentric laser scanner for all purposes withlimited space behind the measurement object.

The usual telecentric laser scanners comprise an emitter and a receiver,both located on opposite sides of the measurement object. Differing fromthat, the retro scanner comprises only a combined emitter / receiver unit(transceiver) and a small retroreflective stripe (height ~ 3 mm) "behind" themeasurement object. This concept provides three main advantages: lesseffort in the adjustment of the system, minimal space requirement and ofcourse less effort in the installation at a production plant.

Glass-Scanner I-MikeI-Mike provides contact free measurements of the relevant parameters oftransparent objects (tubes, rods, bottles ).

Within each measurement interval the transmitter scans the measurementfield by moving a laser beam exactly parallel to the optical axis. Locatedbehind the measurement object, the receiver is facing the transmitter. Hedetects the incoming beams aside and through the object. The diameterand position of the object is calculated by evaluation of the object sshadow.

Wall thickness or inner diameter of transparent tubes is measured byevaluation of the beam paths through the object. In the case of glass rods,the refraction index and two diameters are measurable (parallel andperpendicular to the optical axis).

GS100




The GS100 System is an automated temperature measurement system forglass bending, forming, annealing, and tempering processes.

The MP50 measures a line of 256 points using a rotating mirror that scansa 90º field-of-view up to 48 times per second. The scanning of a glass partis initiated by the measured temperature, or an external "trigger" signal. Aseach heated glass part traverses the field-of-view, a two-dimensionalthermal image or "thermogram" is formed.

The MP50 installs easily, just like a camera, and views the glass part fromabove... whenever it has a clear path. Connecting the pre-wired cables(included) to a PC and entering installation dimensions in the GS100Software completes the installation process.

In this case monitoring the refractory material condition is based ondetection of areas of superheating.

The principle of a SAVELINE-Sensor is based on the distinctive behaviourof special ceramic materials.

·

If a hot spot occurs somewhere along the sensor the specific electricalresistance of the ceramic used in the structure of the sensor increases atthat point. Different ceramic materials have different temperature rangecharacteristics.

The change in resistance is evaluated by the measuring system andconclusions can be drawn regarding a temperature profile of the refractoryin the area of the sensor. A SAVELINE-Sensor enables detection of thehighest temperature regarding local superheating over its entire length.

In modern production process of insulated glass a reliable visual inspectionis indispensable to avoid cost intensive customer complaints. Present-day itis standard to trust nearly exclusive in manual inspection. But such humancontrols are not only extremely expensive, but also only restrictivelyconsistent. At the same time the expectations increases to rely 100% onthe quality. State of the art vision systems are today able to automate suchtasks with convincing results and also displace human inspectors for otherassignments.

With the Quality-Scanner-IG is now a low cost quality control systemavailable equipped with this innovative technology. Together with thenewest generation of intelligent CCD-cameras and an intuitive Windowsbased user interface, the Quality-Scanner-IG takes charge of a reliableIn-Line quality control. Directly integrated into the production process ofinsulated glass, this high performance system allows to guarantee yourcustomer a consistent and reproducible quality of the glass independent ofhuman motivation and abilities. Simultaneously a detailed documentationand archiving of the quality is achieved which allows you to prove the exactinspection details of a specific glass unit after even several months.Furthermore the Quality-Scanner-IG offers enough potential to optimiseyour productivity which automatically conducts to a preventive avoidance ofglass defects.

All visual defects like e.g. bubbles, scratches, stones, coating defects, tin,dirt, finger prints, foil defects, etc. larger than 0,5 mm² will be easilydetected by the Quality-Scanner-IG. The user friendly Windows interfaceallows you to define and illustrate the exact quality settings according to thespecific requirements of your customer.

The Quality-Scanner-IG which is completely integrated in the productionline after the washing machine, stops rejectable glass or gives a warningsignal before the glass will be further assembled. On the screen therejected glass will be visualized in details by displaying the precisecalculated defect positions within the defined quality zones. With such adetailed visualisation your employee will easily be able to immediatelylocate the defects on the glass. TM(C)A comprehensive range of inspection systems is available. Specialemphasis is placed on non-contact thickness measuring instrument

The equipment shows a modular structure. They are made up of theelectronic unit (topside) with the LCD-touch-screen display and themeasuring computers the sensor heads (below), the light box and the tripodsystem for positioning of the sensor heads.

One measuring computer and one sensor head are forming a measuringchannel each.

Up to four measuring channels can be put in an electronic unit.

The electronic unit is a compact 19" rack in an industrial enclosure.

The measuring computers are robust single-board computers.

The thickness is determined by means of comparing the reflections of alight beam. The reflections are generated at the upper side as well as at thelower side of the glass ribbon. The reflections are projected onto lightsensors using CCD (Charge Coupled Devices). The light is generated by ahalogene lamp having a lifetime of about 6 months.

Two measuring systems are in operation in the gauge head simultaneouslyin order to

compensate measurement errors due to the non-parallel surfaces of theglass ribbon.

At the same time, measuring errors due to any inclination between sensorand glass are compensated. This compensating principle greatly enhancesthe accuracy of measurement and is protected by Patents. A sophisticatedoptical system transmits the reflections onto the sensors. Thus, a very highmeasuring accuracy be can achieved despite of unevenness and inclinationof the glass surface.

The sensors are self controlled. They make sure that only reliable readingsare sent out.

The ovality is checked using the variations of the spacing between sensorhead

XPAR POLYSIGMA (Inspection & Process Monitoring)The XPAR Polysigma is a Hot End Infrared Process Monitoring, Inspectionand Control system based on the latest infrared technology.The system contains one infrared camera which is placed as close aspossible to the forming process, between the IS-machine and the coatingtunnel. From this position infrared images of newly formed containers arecaptured and analyzed in real-time.Process MonitoringWith the Process Monitoring software the glass forming process of eachcavity is real time monitored. With the information presented by the system,the IS-machine settings can be adjusted leading directly to a better glassdistribution (higher product quality ), less rejects at the cold end and ahigher pack-to-melt ratio.

InspectionThanks to the sensitiv infrared camera, the Inspection software detects andrejects critical glass defects such as thin ware, birdswings, lenses, stones,blisters, folds, freaks, leaners, offset finish, checks etc.

Hot End transportSince the XPAR Polysigma is synchronized to the IS machine, the systemenables the hot end operator to monitor and adjust the transport / warespacing on the conveyor belt. Stuck and fallen ware is detected andrejected.

Expandable configurationTo keep up with the rapid new infrared developments of XPAR Vision,thehardware of the camera technology is designed as a modular concept. Thisis to make sure that the XPAR Polysigma system- to comply with themarket demands - can be easily extended with a second camera (DualCamera Unit for increased inspection and process monitoring), as well as

with special hard-/software applications for automation of the formingprocess. The XPAR-IGC (Infrared Gob Control) is an example of ahardware add-on for automatic control of the gob weight.
