Sexual Assault AwarenessStaff and students march in support of sexual assault victims. The TSTC

Support Services Office and Counseling Department were joined by staff,campus police, students, local law enforcement, and the Family Crisis Centerto help kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Students handed outstatistics about sexual assault attacks and victims, as well as contactinformation for the Family Crisis Center.

Makes 8-10Servings

Ingredients3 eggplant, peeled and thinly sliced (¼ thick)2 eggs, beaten4 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs6 cups spaghetti sauce, divided1 (16 ounce) package mozzarella cheese,shredded and divided½ cup grated parmesan cheese, divided½ teaspoon dried basil

Eggplant ParmesanDirections1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C)2. Dip eggplant slices in egg3. Mix breadcrumbs and ¼ cup of parmesan cheese in a gallon-sized

Ziploc bag. Dip egg-coated slices mixture and toss until evenly coatedwith crumbs.

4. Place coated and breaded slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.Bake in preheated oven for 7 minutes on each side.

5. In a 9x13 inch baking dish spread spaghetti sauce to cover the bottom.Place a layer of eggplant slices in the sauce.

6. Sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Repeat with remainingingredients, ending with the cheeses. Sprinkle basil on top.

7. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Helpful tips:Before starting, "sweat" the eggplant slices by sprinkling with sea salt and

letting them sit for 30 minutes. Rinse, pat dry with paper towels.

We’ve all dreamt, pretended and even made whooshing noises like we hadthem. Stop lollygagging around and start saving up for the now available MartinJetpack. No, really you should start saving right away because one of these badboys will ring you up at about $90,000. So much for us poor folk living out ourchildhood dreams.

The Martin Jetpack by New Zealand’sMartin Aircraft is a 5 feet tall and 5.5 feetwide monster of a backpack that’s madefrom a carbon fiber composite and Kevlarfor the rotor. The jetpack runs on gasoline(Yeah, that’s safe.) and can get you along at anice 63 mph max for about 32 miles.Considering that it will be a bit noisy, it mightnot be ideal for late night burger runs.Although, should you choose to go cruisingat night and happen to nod off, the MartinJetpack is dummy proof and will even itselfout into a calm hover if the controls shouldbe released, which is pretty nifty because weall know there will be some goof out therewho will freak out at 45 mph and just let go.

In order to get your hands on one of these monstrosities of awesome, youhave to lay down a 10 percent deposit and hold off in a 12 month waiting period.Good news is that you don’t need a license to get airborne jetpack style, and thebad news is that other people don’t need a license to fly these into houses, gasstations and other public places.

OK, I know that I have discussed the Apple iPad here before, but there’s alot of buzz flying around this device that people said they would never buy.After only a few days of the iPad’s Wi-Fi version release the numbers of unitssold is said to have hit 300,000 on the release day and is reportedly creepingup on 500,000 units sold.

The news was flying all over Twitter as well with reviews, pros, cons,praises and complaints. The Apple App Store was ready for the release withmany developers releasing updates for iPad compatibility for free. However,some users were disgruntled at the sight of secondary apps being releasedwith the surprise that you had to buy them all over again!

And so another technology war rises with the release of the Apple iPad.The Kindle will not go down without a fight, but Apple is fighting smart. Theclash of the devices is not in its advanced technology, as the iPad would takethe cake. Instead, it is over the market that the Kindle first dominated, the e-book. For a while the Amazon E-Book Store has reported that it was losingmoney with its user enticing price cap of $9.99, even for best sellers, sonaturally Apple jumped in. The user argument of a cheaper distribution due tothe paperless process of e-books can attest to the demand of low e-bookprices.

However, with Amazon cutting into publishers profits, the Kindle will notstand against new device that can compete with it. Apple is presenting a new

price model and setting new price points where e-books will cost up to$14.99 initially. The Apple iBookstore has already signed and is launching withtitles from many major publishers.

The 3G version of the iPad will be hitting stores soon, but not soonenough. The iPad is surely a travel friendly device whose functionality can beminimized with the restriction of needing a wi-fi hot spot.
