Most water use and waste occurs outdoors!We can make a big impact in the amount of water we use everyday by making some simple
changes. Take the following actions to see how much water you can spare each day.
Get an auto shut-off nozzle for your hose
Spare 20-25 gallons/day
Repair leaks and broken sprinkler heads
Water your yard before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
Use a broom instead of water to clean driveways/sidewalks
Adjust sprinklers to prevent overspray and runoff
Small water conservation efforts can add up to BIG savings!

Make sure to contact the City immediately at 311 if you think a neighbor could use helpful tips or advice on water conservation. You can call, email or use the Sacramento 311 app to submit a neighborhood lookout report.
NEIGHBORHOOD LOOKOUTIf you are an income-eligible customer, you can get a monthly credit on your water, sewer and garbage bill.
