current worship series—Detours Road Rage (Exod. 4:18–6:1) — Through a lot of effort and a couple of

potential pitfalls, Moses finally met up with his brother Aaron and completed

the return trip to Egypt. He revealed the signs given by God to Aaron, and then

to the Israelites. Everything was going great! Everyone was so excited that God

was about to save them! And then . . . the whole enterprise came crashing down

around them. Pharaoh wouldn’t release them, didn’t care what God had said,

and even made the Israelites work harder. And to top it all off, now the Israelites

hated Moses. Things in our lives don’t always go the way we plan them, nor do

they take place according to our time frames. But in those moments, we have

the option to act divisively, grumble, complain against one another and go our

own way, or we can stay the course and trust that God will complete his work

through us and in us according to his time frame.
