Gupta & Arun Soin from Senior Citizens Council of Delhi. Mr. Goburdhun Senior Citizens Council of Delhi organized a special function in association with I.C.C.R. at Deer Park on 09/12/15 in which 22 members of Cultural group from Mauritius recited Ramayana in the presence of more than 300 senior citizens. The performance was very much appreciated by all present. I.C.C.R. deputed cultural group for performance at Deer Park under International Bhakti Festival like past years. The Baillachi Long Mountain Kali Mata cultural group was headed by Mr. Sanjay Juggoo and accompanied by Mrs. Sandhya an official from Ministry of Art & Culture, Govt of Mauritius.Incidentally, it may be pointed out that Senior Citizens Council of Delhi has been actively associated with the I.C.C.R. to promote Art & Culture among senior citizens for the last 10 years. J.R. Gupta, President of the Council felicitated all the members of the Cultural group, Chief Guest Sh. Rajesh Kapoor, Sr. Programme Director, I.C.C.R. The function concluded followed by breakfast. - Report by Kamlesh Popli Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Mayur Vihar, Phase I, Pocket IV, organized joint birthday celebrations in its Recreation Center on 03/01/2016 in which Shri J.R.Gupta, Chairperson, Confederation of Senior Citizens Association of Delhi (an umbrella body of 11 lakh senior citizens) was Chief Guest. Shri Amar Chand Bansal, Vice Chairperson (Central) of Confederation was also present. On this occasion, 22 members were felicitated and extended birthday greetings to all. While welcoming the Chief Guest, Shri Ved Prakash Gupta, Vice President of the Association thanked for his sincere advise 2 years back for getting the Association registered and now the Association is getting Recreation grant from Delhi Govt. and credit for this goes to him. Many members recited songs, gazals, poems, short stories, experiences of life and jokes etc. which were enjoyed by all present. J.R. Hon'ble Prominent Scientist AMEENAH GURIB FAKIM (56), President of Republic of Mauritius paid an official visit to India on 06/12/2015 for the first time after she was elected as President on 5th June 2015. H.E. Mr. Jagdishwar Goburdhun, Mauritius High Commissioner hosted a dinner in her honor at his residence in New Delhi in which eminent personalities were invited including J.R. Gupta & Arun Soin from Senior Citizens Council of Delhi. Mr. Goburdhun

Senior Citizens Council of Delhi organized a special function in association with I.C.C.R. at Deer Park on 09/12/15 in which 22 members of Cultural group from Mauritius recited Ramayana in the presence of more than 300 senior citizens. The performance was very much appreciated by all present. I.C.C.R. deputed cultural group for performance at Deer Park under International Bhakti Festival like past years. The Baillachi Long Mountain Kali Mata cultural group was headed by Mr. Sanjay Juggoo and accompanied by Mrs. Sandhya an official from Ministry of Art & Culture, Govt of Mauritius.Incidentally, it may be pointed out that Senior Citizens Council of Delhi has been actively associated with the I.C.C.R. to promote Art & Culture among senior citizens for the last 10 years. Awareness on Health Issues for Senior Citizens

Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations has requested Health Minister, Delhi Govt. to organize orientation and awareness programmes on health issues, both physical and mental of the older persons. In this regard, the Govt. may take the help of NGOs so that the older persons could get their Right to Health effectively.

"Senior Citizen Welfare Mission Tagore Garden, in a function held on 13 th December 2015, honoured 17 member couples who had completed 50 years of their married life. 250 members attended the function. The stage was managed by Sh. R.K. Katyal & Sh. B.M. Sadana. Golden Jubilee Couples were honoured one by one by garlands, gifts & by reading glimpses of their journey of life. Couples were feeling very happy & felt emotional by receiving such touching Honour. Quarterly Magazine of the Misson was also released. Senior Citizens Council of Delhi organized a Health talk at Deer Park in association with Rockland Hospital on 20/12/2015. Dr. Vikas Chopra, Cardiologist, Dr. P.K. Hatwal (Consultant in Accupuncture) and Dr. Anjali (Gynecologist) delivered a very fruitful talks particularly for the senior citizens. All of them also gave a number of tips how senior citizens can maintain their good health particularly in this cold weather. J.R.Gupta, President of the Council thanked the doctors and function concluded with light refreshments.

On 27.12.2015 Moti Nagar Senior Citizens Cultural Association celebrated birthdays of 52 members at its Manoranjan Kendra in the august presence of Area Nigam Parshad, Shri Bharat Bhushan Madan. Earlier, she was Director of the

Senior Citizens Council of Delhi organized New Year Celebrations at Deer Park on 01/01/2016 in which more than 300 senior citizens participated. Sundar Kand Path was also recited which was supported by the family of Area Councillor Shri S.S.Monty . Chief Guest was Shri Radhey Shyam Sharma, Chairman, Standing Committee of South Delhi Municipal Corporation. Eminent Poet Shri Suraj Pal from Mathura recited so many poems which were appreciated by all present. Eminent magician Shri Desh Raj also performed magic tricks to entertain senior citizens. The Chief Guest appreciated the

various day to day activities of the Council for the cause and care of elderly particularly protecting senior citizens from abuses/ humiliations at the hands of their own children and others.He also extended new year greetings to all present. Shri J.R.Gupta, President of the Council felicitated the Chief Guest along with Shri S.S.Monty, Shri Mohan Lal Chopra and other members. Shri J.R. Gupta administered an oath to all the senior citizens present to keep their surroundings clean under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan of Govt. of India & to keep pollution free Delhi. The function concluded with refreshments.

Mauritius headquartered Center for Phytotherapy Research (CEPHYR), which carries out research on plants for use in cosmetics, nutrition and therapy. The Council also felicitated Hon’ble Prime Minister of Mautitius Republic during his visit to Delhi of 30.10.2015. Mr Goburdhun was also felicitated at Deer Park on 30.08.2015 in the presence of more than 400 Senior Citizens. A MOU exists since 2006 between Senior Citizens Council of Delhi & Senior Citizens Council, Mauritius for promoting exchange of views of groups of elderly of both the countries. -A report by A.K. Gupta, President of the Council requested the Chief Guest to kindly allow the Council to host PIO students at Deer Park on one day at the cost of the Council as and when they visit Delhi under Know India Program. Smt. Kalawati Jain 74 yrs. resident of Vallabh Vihar Appartment, Sector-13, Rohini, was killed by her own Grandson Harshit Jain (21) along with his accomplice Gaurav Tyagi (24) on 19.12.2015. The police arrested both the culprits & it was made known during investigation that the murder was committed by his grand son for money to meet the demands of her girl friend. A team under supervision of Inspector Mahavir Singh conducted raids & managed to nab Harshit Jain late night on 22.12.2015 said Vikramjeet, DCP, Outer Delhi, Rohini. - Source TOI, Dated 23.12.2015

You have to book your own railway ARSPticket in Dehradoon Shatabdi upto Haridwar for 19.3.16 (Morning) & back for 21.3.16 (Evening). Transport would be provided from Haridwar Station to Venue & back.
