Active ageing is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. Policies based on active ageing ensure fewer disabilities associated with chronic old age diseases, giving the elderly the chance to participate in all aspects of life, lowering costs of medical treatment and burden on

health services. This frame work is valuable for a State or Country to adopt when formulating policies or designing a campaign on prevention of elderly abuse. The aforesaid suggestions are brought to the notice of Govt of India and Govt of Delhi for taking appropriate action at ground level at the earliest.
