STAFF……… … …… Mrs. Laura Nafziger has served as the Administrator/Teacher for the last 7 years. She is an alumna of Child’s World, a graduate of Archbold High School, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Goshen College. She has experience teaching preschool at Primary Elementary in Wauseon, Crestwood Elementary in Swanton, and at Gorham Fayette Local School. Mrs. Nafziger also did mission work with her husband in the Andes Mountains of Cebadas, Ecuador, where she taught preschool and English to children in grades K-5 at Ñukanchik Yachay Trilingual Elementary School. Laura resides on a farm north of Archbold with her husband Steve, and their three girls.    Mrs. Gretchen King has been a teacher at Child's World Preschool for 3 years. She is a graduate of Wauseon High School, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bluffton University. Her prior experience includes teaching preschool special education in Defiance, 3rd grade Title I Reading and Math at Defiance Elementary, and working as a paraprofessional at Archbold Elementary School. She lives in Archbold with her husband Jeremy, and their three boys.   

  MISSION…………………………… …… Child’s World Preschool allows young children, ages 3-5, to discover, explore, and develop their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills in a friendly, Christian environment, while appreciating God’s beautiful creation and all it has to offer us.   CURRICULUM………… …………… Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) are incorporated into daily activities. The standards foster student learning in five essential domains of school readiness. These five domains are: Social/Emotional Development, Physical Well-Being/Motor Development, Approaches Toward Learning, Language/Literacy Development and Cognition/General Development. A Christian education is taught through Bible stories, memory verses, prayers and scripture songs. Special class events, programs, and field trips are held throughout the year.

CLASSES AVAILABLE … … 3s & 4s Tues / Thurs: 8:15-11:15 a.m.  4s & 5s Mon / Wed / Fri: 8:15-11:15 a.m.    DAILY ACTIVITIES… ………………… Our daily schedule includes exploration, discovery and development in the following areas: character building, self-help skills, small and large motor skills, language arts, mathematical concepts, physical and natural science, sensory and dramatic play, cooking experiences, music & movement, and 1D, 2D, and 3D art.

Our yearly schedule includes nearby field tripsto explore the community in which we live, and various special events and programs involving parents and senior citizens.    PARENT INVOLVEMENT… ………… Parents are invited to participate whenever they wish for special projects & events! Parents provide snacks on a rotating basis.   

  REGISTRATION…… …………… ……… **REGISTER ONLINE @ cwpreschool.com January 1, 2020 = Registration begins  August 1, 2020 = Deadline for Registration  If spots are filled, your child will be put on a waiting list and contacted as a vacancy becomes available.    REQUIREMENTS … Eligibility will be determined by the following: 

1) Order application & registration fee is received online. 

2) Age of the child. Child must be 3 years old *by August 1, 2020*. 

3) The readiness of the child as determined by the parents & administrator. All children must be toilet-trained before entering program. 

4) By law, a yearly medical exam signed by your child’s physician, and updated immunization record is required to be kept on file by first day of school. 

TUITION … Registration Fee = $ 40 non-refundable (includes t-shirt, school bag, school supplies) 2-day class, 3s/4s, 3 hrs/session = $ 65/month 3-day class, 4s/5s, 3 hrs/session = $ 85/month

.OPERATION…… …………… …… Child’s World Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS), and meets all requirements for a “Type A” daycare facility.  The staff at Child’s World Preschool hold Ohio Teaching Licenses and Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education. We are also certified in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse & Neglect, and Communicable Diseases.   HISTORY …… …………………… In 1976, Child’s World Preschool began as a parent-cooperative preschool with 26 children; it was founded by a group of parents and coordinator Joyce Frey. In 1980, Child’s World Preschool became a non-profit organization. A Board consisting of 6 former/current parent members and 4 Zion members meet quarterly to make decisions regarding the preschool. In 2016, we celebrated 40 years of touching the hearts, minds, and lives of over 1,451 children, and changing our world one child at a time!
