TypesofMuscle• Skeletal (or voluntary) muscleisthetypeofmuscleyoucansee

andfeel.Whenyouworkoutwithweights,youareexercisingskeletalmuscle.Skeletalmusclesattachtotheskeletonandcomeinpairsbecauseonemusclemovestheboneinonedirectionandtheothermovesitbacktheotherway.Thesemusclescontractvolun-tarily—youthinkaboutcontractingthem,yourbrainsendsthesignal,andthemusclescontract.
