METALLIC/SEMI-METALIC GASKETS
SPIRAL WOUND GASKETS
General characteristics
The sealing part of the Spiratem gasket consists of a metal strip spirally wound together with a soft sealing filler. The metal strip gives the gasket excellent flexibility properties, while the pliable sealing filler ensures high sealing performance. Thanks to this material combination, spiral wound gaskets are suitable in applications with highly fluctuating pressures and temperatures of sealed media. Depending on the solution, spiral gaskets may have an outer and / or internal ring.
• Spiral wound gaskets are suitable for a wide pressure and temperature ranges. • Spiral wound gaskets can be used for pressures up to 25 MPa and temperatures from -200°C to +550°C / 1100°C (on special request). • Thanks to its design it can be easily installed without causing and damage. • The outside guide ring is used to centre the spiral sealing part against the flange and prevents the gasket from blowing out. • By combination of various materials and metals, the gaskets can be used in a wide range of operation conditions according to customer
specification. • The spiral wound gasket does not damage flange surfaces. • Thanks to the non-adhesive properties of the spiral wound gasket, it can be easily removed during disassembly.

Double jacketed gaskets General characteristics
• Metal jacketed gaskets consist of a metallic jacket and a filler from a soft sealing material.
• The filler material provides the gasket with compressibility and resilience, while the jacket ensures excellent compressive strength and sealing performance.
• Jacketed gaskets can be produced in a variety of configurations making them ideal for heat exchanger applications.
• A wide range of jacket and filler materials allows to produce gaskets for a great number of service conditions.

Ring type joints (RTJ) General characteristics
• Ring type joints (RTJ) are primarily used in the oil, gas, petrochemical and chemical industries for sealing of flange joints exposed to
high temperatures (up to 1000 °C) and pressures (up to 1500 bar) • RTJs are offered in two basic shapes: oval (MB) or octagonal (M9), possibly in other shapes. • A wide range of materials provides the metal gaskets with excellent sealing performance under various conditions.
Standard gasket profiles
M8-R oval M12-RX
Standard RTJ design of the oval type for flanges with grooves.
Special RTJ design for pressures up to 750 bars. The RTJs are interchangeable with the standard R models on condition that the bolt lengths must be extended.
M9-R octagonal M11-BX
Standard RTJ design of the octagonal type for flanges with grooves.
Special RTJ design for very high pressures up to 1500 bars. Designed for API flanges with grooving.
Recommended flange surface finish
• Profile R, RX: 1,6 (µm) • Profile BX: 0,8 (µm)
