PRODUCT FEATURES

2.1 Description

TheAEMC® Models 6501 and 6503 are compact, self-containedhand-crankedmegohmmeters.Theyarepracticalanddependableinstrumentsdesigned forabroad rangeofplantandfieldserviceapplications,suchasacceptancetestingandpreventivemaintenanceofwiring,cables,switchgear,andmotors.Theeasyhand-crankedoperationprovidesasteadyrectifiedDCvoltageoutputacrosstheentirerangeforconsistentlyreliablereadings.

Thesemegohmmeters incorporateabuilt-ingeneratorandacon-stantDCvoltagecircuit toprovideastableoutputandgivedirectinsulationresistancereading.

TheModels6501/6503haveauniqueauto-ranging featurewhichexpands the scale by x10 and almost doubles the scale length.Whenthepointerreachesneartheendofscale,theauto-rangingfeatureactivates,returningthepointertothebeginningofthescalewiththex10redLEDindicatoron.

Insulation resistance is indicated with a rugged taut-band metermovement on a logarithmic scale. The indicator scale is easy toread.
