Meducation in Schools

The World Health Organization regards childhood obesity as one of

the most serious global public health challenges for the 21st century.

Partnered with Change For Life, Boots’ Meducator’s will go into both primary and secondary schools in order the

educate children on their health and well being. Organising ‘fun days’ and

sports day, the Boots Meducating team will encourage a more active

lifestyle.

Talks can also be put in place in schools to advise healthy eating and

encourage older youths to move away from alcohol and make alternative choices. Helping to create a more sustainable future Boots will be targeting prevention of diseases

rather than their solutions, by targeting young people this can be

done.

“Meducation for the nation”

We are encouraging people to take control of their own health

Why?

“Over 15 years the number of people will diabetes has more than doubled”

“45% of the population will be obese by 2035, if obesity continues to rise at

the current rate”

“By 2018 2.9million people will have at least 3 long term medical

conditions”

Boots Healthcare AppBoots’ Meducator’s have extended the current Boots Healthcare App to incorporate health care. We think that this is an extremely exciting development as it puts healthcare management in your hands.

If you, like us, love the sound of this new development but find yourself digitally unaware or unsure, we are here to help. All our staff will be trained on how to use and how to be able to teach customers the in’s and outs of the app – so please don’t be afraid to ask! If you feel you need more than a few minutes to learn about the app we have dedicated staff members with whom you can book an appointment with, and will be able provide all the help and advice that you need.

What else does the app do?

- It enables you set reminders for tablets and other medications helping you to both take and stay in control of your own health

- Input your daily food intake and monitor your dietary information

- Make use of the symptom checker, which will recommend suitable products for you based on what you tell us. Providing a more efficient way for you to get better, rather than sitting in doctors waiting rooms for hours.

- Going on holiday soon? We offer travel vaccination advice. Find out how far in advance you need your vaccines and book an appointment at boots through our app
