1902 | The Football Association of Norway is founded April 30th.

1908 | The Football Association of Norway becomes a member of FIFA.

1976 | Women’s football is especially recognised by The Football Association of Norway.

1978 | The first official international friendly matches are played at the Nordic Tournament, taking place in Denmark. Sweden is the first opponent and defeats Norway (2-1).

The first official National championship in women’s football is played. Team BUL (Bondeungdomslaget)(already with 4 unofficial championships) wins the cup final against Trondheims-Ørn after a penalty shoot-out.

1986 | The first international friendly game for girls is played. Sweden is Norway’s opponent and wins the match (2-0) in Lillestrøm, Norway.

1987 | European Champions! The Norwegian national women’s team wins the Gold Medal after their (2-1) victory over Sweden in the final at Ullevaal Stadium, Oslo.

From this year on, Norway has a nationwide top division in women’s football, based on 10 teams.

1988 | World Champions! Unofficial World Cup in China. The Norwegian national women’s team wins the first Women’s FIFA Invitational Tourna-ment 1988 in China. Norway defeats Sweden (1-0) in the final.

1989 | Silver Medal during the European Championship in Germany. The host nation, Germany, beats Norway (4-1) in the final.

1991 | Silver medal in the first official World Championship for women in China. The US team defeats Norway (1-2) in the final.

Silver medal in the UEFA Women’s Championship in Denmark. Germany defeats Norway 3-1.

1993 | European Champions! Norway defeats the hosting nation, Italy 1-0.

1994 | The Norwegian national women’s team once more proves their position by qualifying for the final round in both the European- and World Championships.

1995 | World Champions! Sweden hosts The FIFA World Cup. Norway defeats Germany 2-0 in front of 17.000 fans who sits through a steady rain at Råsunda Stadium. Hege Riise and Marianne Pettersen scores the goals that leads to Norway’s first official Women’s World Cup title.

1996 | Bronze Medal in the Olympic Games, Atlanta. This is the first Olympic Football Tournament for women. Norway defeats Brazil (2-0) in the bronze final. USA takes the Gold Medal.

1997 | The Football Association of Norway, in co-operation with the Swedish Football Association

is hosting the UEFA European Championship (European Women’s Football Championship). Germany wins the competition.

1999 | The Norwegian national women’s team participates in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, USA and obtains 4th place after loosing for Brazil on penalties in the bronze final.

2000 | Olympic Gold Medal! Sydney, Australia: Norway takes the Gold Medal after beating USA 3-2 on «Golden Goal» in the final.

2001 | Bronze Medal, UEFA Women’s Championship, Germany. Norway and Denmark shares the bronze medal; No match was played. Germany wins the championship.

2002 | Norway qualifies for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003 by winning the qualifying group. Norway wins the group unbeaten with 5 victories in 6 matches.

2003 | The Norwegian national women’s team participates in the FIFA World Cup, USA.

In the group stage, Norway wins (1-0) over France, the Republic of Korea (7-1) and loses (1-4) to Brazil. USA is too strong and beats Norway (1-0) in the quarter final. This loss squeezes Norway out of a qualification position for the Olympics 2004 in Athens, Greece.

The Norwegian national U19 women’s team wins silver medal in the UEFA U19 Women’s Championship after losing (0-2) to Germany in the final match.

2004 | The Norwegian national women’s team ends second in the qualification group for UEFA Euro 2005 Women’s Championship in England. The Norwegian team qualifies by winning (7-0) and (2-1) over Iceland in the indoor play-off matches.

2005 | Silver Medal, UEFA 2005 Women’s Championship, England. Norway defeats Sweden (3-2) in the semi final. Germany beats Norway (3-1) in the final match and wins the championship.

2006 | The Norwegian national women’s team qualifies for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, China 2007 by winning the qualification group unbeaten.

2007 | In the FIFA Women’s World Cup, China 2007, the Norwegian national women’s team defeats host nation China (1-0) in the quarter final. Germany is Norway’s opponent in the semi final, and wins 3-0. USA beats Norway (4-1) in the bronze final and Norway achieves a respectable 4th place in the competition.

2008 | In the 2008 Beijing Olympics lose the quarterfinals against silver medalist Brazil.

The Norwegian National U19 Women’s Team wins silver medal in the UEFA U19 Women’s Championship.

The Norwegian U20 women’s national team was qualified and played the FIFA U20 World Cup. A 2-1 win against Mexico was followed by two lost matches (to Korea DPR and Brazil) and the team did not qualify for the knock out stage.

2009 | Norway won bronze medal in Euro 2009 in Finland. Norway defeats Sweden in the quarter-final but loose to the gold winner Germany in the semifinal.

2010 | The Norwegian women s team qualified for FIFA Women s World Cup Germany by winning the qualification group unbeated.

2011 | Norway won against Equatorial Guinea in the first match at the group stage of the FIFA World Cup in Germany, but after two lost matches the team did not qualify for the knockout stage.

2012 | Norway qualified for the EURO 2013 in Sweden by winning the qualification group.

Norway U20 women’s team played the FIFA U20 World Cup and qualified for the knock out stage after following results in the group stage; Korea DPR (2-4), Canada (2-1) and Argentina (4-1). In the quarterfinal Norway lost to Germany.

2013 | Norway won silver medal in Euro 2013 in Sweden. Norway defeats Denmark in the semifinal but lost to Germany in the final. 2014 | The Norwegian women s team qualified for FIFA Women s World Cup Canada by winning the qualification group.

The Norwegian The norwegian national U19 women’s team won bronze medal in the UEFA U19 Women’s Championship after following result in the group stage: Netherlands (0-0), Belgium (2-1) and Scotland (5-0). In the semifinal Norway lost to Spain.

2015 | Two wins and one draw was the result in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup in Canada. In the Round of 16 Norway lost against England, 1-2.

Both WU-17 and WU-19 reached the final rounds in the UEFA Women’s Championship.

De Adelaarshorst, Deventer:• A multi-use stadium.• Mostly used for football matches, and is the home stadium of Go Ahead Eagles. • The stadium is able to hold 10,400 people. Built in 1920.• The stadium hosted a qualifying match for the 1974 FIFA World Cup, between

the Netherlands and Iceland. The Netherlands won the game 8-1.
