Notable Incidents in May

• Guide assisted with crowd control during serious motorcycle/cab accident

• Formerly depressed suicidal homeless man thanks Community Guides for assistance over the years

• Guides assaulted and Guides threatened • Due to number of threats and assaults some Community

Guides are now working in pairs for safety reasons• Guide assisted and covered an unresponsive indecently

exposed man laying on the sidewalk

Cleanup of Minna Hotspot

• Guides have focused on 400 Block of Minna • Campers have been going into Auburn Hotel after being advised by Guides

and coming right back out after the Guides are gone• Hotel Owner states they are not residents of the hotel• We are working with the SFPD Footbeat on issue

Supervisor Jane Kim asks Guides to be in photo-shoot with her

Removed 206 Graffiti in May(375 in April and 697 in March)

576 Human and Animal Waste Items Cleaned and Removed

Focused on the importance of protecting self when cleaning up not only blood, human waste and other toxic substances and how to properly handle, transport, store and use all the chemicals in our inventory

De-escalation TrainingEquipped staff with knowledge necessary to defuse a possible explosive situation and slowly bring down the volatility level to a more manageable threshold

Sexual Harassment Training for Staff and SupervisorTrained employees and managers on discrimination and harassment policies facilitated by MJM’s legal counsel Christine Maloney.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation TrainingThe staff was certified in CPR and AED.
