Today, international marketing expertise is more critical to a company’s success than ever before. Rapid growth in new communication technologies along with heightened competition across all industries is obliging firms to seek, and succeed in, new and different markets far beyond their national borders.

As a result, marketing managers need to have a system-ic and global approach to marketing and communica-tion strategies . Without such a perspective, and the skills necessary to implement it, companies will be unable to reach their growth objectives. The Master of Science in Marketing has been designed to ensure that graduates acquire the right skills and insights to allow their compa-nies to prosper in this rapidly globalizing competitive en-vironment.

During the program, students will be able to develop and hone their international marketing expertise or digital marketing expertise according to the track they chose; become familiar with emerging marketing trends and technologies; and appreciate the cultural fac-tors that could impact marketing, communication and branding strategies.

As a result, graduates will be able to rapidly integrate the corporation, and make their mark in their chosen careers.

This program is designed to equip students with cutting-edge marketing concepts, tools and techniques in order to design and implement innovative marketing strategies in real world business settings.

The International Marketing specialization focuses on the multicultural factors which affect marketing decisions

The Digital Marketing spe-cialization focuses on the management of projects involving internet and new technologies.

“Digital Marketing is a very interesting field of work because of its rapidly evolving knowledge. The courses delivered at IUM are practical to apply and keep following the latest trend that occurs in the market. And the most important thing is the lecturers are practitioners in their field, they deliver more than just knowledge to the students but also their experience.

The thing I enjoyed the most in IUM is the Networking Events, where students can meet managers and even CEOs of well known companies. This is an unvaluable experience”

Eveline Setiawan, Indonesian

2012-2013 Cohort

“The International Marketing Track at IUM offers a wide range of courses and allows students to integrate with other programs at the university.

The professors are experts in their field, which makes the classes more in-teractive and hands-on. A cultural-mosaic is present at IUM, as the stu-dents and faculty members are international.

It’s beneficial as it is an added value to the academic and personal learn-ing experience of the student.”

As a member of the Track and Field team in college, I experienced the true meaning of my coach’s motto: “No pain, no gain”. I learned that performance in any domain requires preparation, commitment, talent and the right attitude, values that are essential to be successful in the sports in-dustry.

The Master of Science in Sport Business Manage-ment builds on these values. The program is de-

signed to provide participants with the technical skills and competencies necessary to become ef-fective business leaders. As a means to develop or strengthen their soft skills, participants will be prepared to handle these issues and ultimately be-come ethical and responsible decision-makers.

A unique Learning & Networking Experience

The global multibillion dollar sports industry has experienced formidable and sustained growth since the 1990s. This phenomenon is due in part to various factors including societal changes (people’s aspirations for a better and healthier lifestyle), the emergence of a culture based on the admiration of modern-day athletic heroes, and the growing importance of sports marketing and TV rights for corporations. The multiplication of international and national events including Olympic Games, World Cham-pionships and alike generates enormous public attention but also millions of dollars in revenues each year. opportunities are virtually limitless in the sports industry, however, risks and abuses also exist, such as those brought by dop-ing, excessive gambling, and sport clubs’ dis-proportionate use of financial debt.

IUM’s Master in Sport Business Management pre-pares participants for a variety of positions in the industry. The program equips students with solid skills and competencies but also with the ethical values to become responsible business leaders.

In partnership with Peace&Sport and the University for Peace in Costa Rica, IUM offers also a Master in Sustainable Peace through Sport.

IUM organizes and hosts throughout the academic year numerous events and training seminars that al-low students to meet and interact with recruiters during International Business Days, market themselves and effectively prepare to seize career opportunities.

In addition, already in the classroom, students interact with instructors who are often business consultants, giving them a concrete and insider look at the sports industry.

My experience at the Inter-national University of Monaco has helped me shape my pro-fessional career and broaden

my knowledge of the business world. As a former athlete and registered nurse in the United States, I struggled to find my way when I moved to Monaco 2 years ago. My Bachelor’s degree wouldn’t transfer over, so I needed to find a new career path. After a year of learning the French language and exploring my options, I began to work for a company called Be Fit Monaco. Be Fit Mo-naco is a private training facility that focuses on holistic, lifestyle management through individualized nutrition and exercise programs. I fit in perfectly with the team and felt it was a dream come true, but needed to fur-ther my education to move up the professional ladder.

IUM helped me develop my business skills on all levels, including accounting, marketing, leadership, project management and consumer behavior among other things. The practical knowledge and skills taught to me at IUM serve me on a daily basis. I am able to manage the company financials, planning, marketing strategies and development. I have now moved up the career ladder and am capable of managing the company, while also working on projects for expansion. The pro-fessors and staff at IUM are friendly and accommodat-ing, making the learning experience positive and worth-while.

I recommend IUM to anyone looking for a well rounded educational program that they can apply to their ca-reers and daily lives.

Synergies and interaction with the business world have always been one of IUM’s strengths. In all the master programs, networking activities with both top executives and recruiters are regularly proposed, through various forms.

A Practical Approach that Immerses Students into the Professional WorldThe academic expertise of the permanent professors is complemented by the strong practitioner expertise of IUM adjunct faculty and guest lecturers, all actively en-gaged professionals who bring into the classroom their real world experience and the industry state-of-the-art standards and practices. Students thus go beyond the theoretical framework and apply it to concrete contex-tual situations.

They also gain an appreciation of real world company ex-pectations, further developed through internships, applied projects and business competitions. This balanced exposure to theory and practice is one of the central pillars of the edu-cational philosophy that underpins IUM programs.

Your Professional Immersion

Corporate Projects Every year our small yet highly selective cohort of Master students augment their theoretical knowl-edge by applying what they have learned in the classroom to real business situations.

Organizations from any industry or of any size –from global corporations to start-ups, as well as charities and NGOs—are invited to participate in this program. The shared and underlying factor is that the organiza-tion has a real and tangible business challenge which the project members—through thorough research and analysis-- will address by providing practical and implementable recommendations.
