CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
(CGS) 2019-2020
Registration for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is open. Please find the forms in the Narthex or online at https://tinyurl.com/AnnunciationCGS2019.
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Christian Ministry for children aged 3-12 years that is based on the Bible and liturgy of the church; it is inspired by the
principles of Montessori education. This Ministry provides: •An opportunity for children to fall in love with Jesus, the Good Shepherd, in a child-friendly space called an atrium – located in our church.•Guided activity to aid meditation on Bible scripture and the mysteries of the Christian faith once a week - in small groups, facilitated by trained adults (catechists).•That each child's unique spiritual needs and abilities are respected and nurtured.
Congratulations Emily MillanYou know that family that always sits in the front pew at Mass every Sunday? Yeah, that was us. My family has always been actively involved in their faith and various Catholic ministries, and the concept of missionary life was not foreign to me. I’ve been blessed with parents who sought to give their children a front row view of what a relationship with Christ looks like, and how to live that out.
I graduated high school and served for three years in Australia – two of them as a missionary with NET Ministries, and another as a full time youth minister within a diocese. The joy I had in sharing the Gospel and witnessing the youth and young adults experience a relationship with Christ made my heart dance with joy!
I knew that this was something that God was calling me to – a front row seat to how His Love changes lives. And how a life lived completely for Him empowers others to live it, too.
And He is still calling me to this front row seat! I am blessed to begin my work as a campus missionary this year with CCO. Originally I was going to be placed at Queen’s University in Kingston, but just recently I was asked if I would take a position at Memorial University in St. John’s Newfoundland instead. I am willing to serve wherever God is calling me, so at the end of the summer I will be heading as far east in Canada as you can go! I am very excited to see how the students there will encounter God’s Love and how He will be working through me to help make this happen!
Emily will be speaking at all the masses the weekend of July 13th and 14th. Please keep Emily and the whole mission of CCO in your prayers.
For more information, contact Emily at [email protected].
