SENATE BILL 391 (LIU)

REQUIRES CALTRANS TO:

• IDENTIFY THE STATEWIDE INTEGRATED MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

• PREPARE INTERIM REPORT TO LEGISLATURE, BY DECEMBER 31, 2012, BASED ON SB 375 SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES STRATEGIES AND THEIR INFLUENCE STATEWIDE

• DEVELOP STATE TRANSPORTATION PLAN BY DECEMBER 31, 2015 THAT IDENTIFIES THE INTEGRATED, MULTIMODAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO ACHIEVE MAXIMUM FEASIBLE GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTIONS

Short Term Objectives:March 30th 2012:

• Release the “public” version of CT Earth• Target users are MPO’s, RTPA’s, and Local Agencies (though general

public may access)

• Two CT Earth Products will be available• A customized desktop Google Earth software that connects to CT Earth• A Web Browser based client focusing on specific business areas (e.g. CIB, IGR)

Long Term Objectives (1 – 2 years)• Improve base data attribute information and geometry• Provide direct access to data files in the Caltrans GIS Data Library• Broaden public access by integrating with the State Geographic
