CONTEXT OF SINGAPORE

Singapore as the worlds fastest growing economy. A thriving downtown with an air of opulence and leisure creates an environment conducive enough for the sizeable foreign investments. In a meeting on the future of the Singapore economy, the decision was made to reward two contracts for mega-resort casinos to further Singapore’s appeal. Singapore attracted many high profile backers due to vast contrasts to the American market that is seen as volatile. Property values are still driven up due to such a great influx of foreign money through tourism and investments in the island nation.

CONTEXT OF DEVELOPMENT

Las Vegas Sands Corporation, out of Nevada, was awarded with one of the two contracts based on their total investment along with their design proposal. Sands operates several mega resort locations in

the Las Vegas areas as well as Macau. In recent years Sands has been taking a peculiar interest in the Asian markets to the point of even purchasing two private airliners to provide transportation to Asian high rollers thus bringing them to Las Vegas locations. Of the amenities included on the airliners are high limit

baccarat tables that can be operated over international waters with no applicable taxes.
