No one is signed up for

    June, July, August.

    Any takers???

    From the President:

How exciting!! Weve made two new friends with our new members,

Krista Mead and Linda Beer!! And, Im happy to say my sister, Edie, has

rejoined our club. Great timing, too! Theyve been able to experience the

fun and enjoyment of our biggest fund raiser, Spell-ebration! Such a small

group putting on such a big event is a huge reason to be proud of our little

    but growing club.

This month will keep us on our toes with several projects: Bertie Bear

readings, submissions of Mamie L Bass Service Award, Letha H Brown

Literacy Award, and Gladys Brewster Outstanding Altrusan Award, and

discussion of Conference coming up in May.

Were on a roll, ladies! Pretty soon summer will be here and we can relax a

little! But in the meantime, well enjoy our camaraderie and the good will

    we are providing the community!

    Sincerely,

    Lisa

    Mystery Bruncher

    Who is it?

    What you may not know:

Shes a retired manager of the

Ferndale ofce at Puget SoundEnergy. She enjoys cross stitching,

    gardening, reading and doing things

with her children and 4 grand children.

    She has two sons

What youd fnd hard to believe:

She can sing! When she lived in Lynden she use

to belong to a singing group call The Quarter

Notes. They sang 4 part harmony, barber shop styleand theyve recorded 2 CDs. They use to sing for

    churches and nursing homes.

    Need more hints?

    Heres what you probably know:

Her grandma exterior hides a package of talent.

Youll see it in the twinkle of her eye when she

opens her mouth and displays her sharp wit and

    condence.

    Shes comfortable in leadership roles

You might see her son on stage at Spelling Bees

At meetings, you may hear her talk about other

    service organizations she belongs to.

When she calls, the caller id says Littleanadar.

    OK Give up?

    Its our BUNCO party host

    Head Start Speakers for

    January Program Meeting

Sandy Junkers and Paul Youmans gave a

presentation on the Head Start program. The

Breakfast Bunch currently supports the Head

Start program by reading Bertie Bear books to

    students.

    NEW MEMBERS:

Bunco Party13 people attended our BUNCO party

on February 16th at Darlenes house

    Joyce was our top winner

    Theme was Foods You Love

Bunco parties are money makers for

    our club operations.

On March 17 - the same day of our

    big funderaiser, The Breakfast Bunch

    initiated two new Altrusa sisters,

Krista Mead and Linda Beer, to our

group. Krista is a teacher for the

Longview School district and Lindahas a Business - The Porcelain Rose

on 10th Ave. The Breakfast Bunch

will also have the pleasure of install-

ing Carolyn Winchell on April 21.A little about Krista:

Krista asked her students to help her

decide what makes her unique. They

said that every month I give out stuffed

bears to good readers, twice a year we

have a toy auction for earned points,

about twice a month we celebrate oursuccesses with ice-cream parties and

when the boys hair gets too long or

shaggy, I rubber band them into pig

    tails.

On a more serious note, she has started

an art program in each of the four ele-

mentary schools she has taught in, from

    ne arts to dramatic arts.

I joined Altrusa because I believe thatthrough service to others one fullls a

great part of what denes our reason fo

    being.

Stay tuned for more information on
