The system could be powered by six C batteries, which were included. And an optional A/C power supply was sold separately.

The Magnavox Odyssey was a general brand name of the company's complete line of home video game consoles released from 1972 through 1978.

The Odyssey uses a type of removable printed circuit board card that inserts into a slot similar to a cartridge slot, allowing the player to select the unit's various games

Atari

Atari is a corporate and brand name owned by several entities since its inception in 1972, currently by Atari Interactive, a subsidiary of the French publisher Atari.

In 1996, Atari Corporation reverse merged with disk drive manufacturer JT Storage.

While the system was quite popular, Coleco hedged their bet on video games by introducing a line of ROM cartridges for the Atari 2600 and Intellivision making it more popular.

Nintendo is the world's largest video game company, boasting superior graphics, game speed, and sound over the Famicom of the 8-bit 3rd generation but no where near as good graphics or speed as the next gen consoles.

gamecube

GameCube was the first Nintendo console to use optical discs for its primary storage medium.

It was the first Nintendo console to support online gaming, a feature that required the use of an add-on broadband or modem adapter which was sold separately. One difference is that the only thing it could be connected to is the Game Boy advance, another is that it had 4 controller inputs and disks instead of game cartridges.
