Magazine Analysis of Tiger Beat.

• Tiger beat is a well know American magazine which is bought by many teens and tweens. The magazine is well know for its cut and paste collaged image style. The magazine Most of tiger beats magazines are very cluttered with images and text. As this is a well know magazine in America they can afford to cover up some of the title giving them room for slightly bigger images.•As the cover is slightly cluttered it means that the person looking at the magazine would look at over the cover trying to take in everything that its showing you.

• Tiger beat has used many images on the cover. This would attract the viewer as it is more likely they will see someone on the cover that is their idol. • The images are overlapped in places in a college style. By overlapping it also creates more space for other things on the page.• They also use a lot of images that they have taken in photo shoots. This would attract people because they may not have seen that picture before

• As the magazine is focused on the younger generation they would not have to add a lot of interesting sell-lines. For example on this cover it says “does Selena kiss & tell” this short caption would help catch tweens attention as at the time of this issue she was romantically connected to other Disney stars

• The colours used are very bright which would obviously attract the attention of some ones eyes. I have also noticed that tiger beat use a lot of pinks and purple which relate more to their target audience.

•The font that is used on the magazine in my opinion does not stand out. I think that they have not focused on the font but more on the images’ as they capture your eye the most.

• Tiger beat focuses on the younger generation which is mainly influenced by their idols more than people they actually know. Tiger beat creates a lot of competitions for example this cover says “win a signed Jonas guitar” because the Jonas brothers are a well know American band many teens would be interested in the competition• the magazine writes a lot about things that would interest teens such as fashion, movies, music and teen idol gossip. These are the subjects that teens are interested in so it attracts the exact target audience its supposed to.• the final way that this magazine attracts lots of attention is by adding lots of free items to the magazine. For example this magazine came with free 3-D glasses as well as free posters that were in 3-d.
