Money has spoken against the appeal to stop a huge wind farmconstruction slated for various Somerset and Piscataquis County towns byFirst Winds new owner SunEdison, the worlds largest renewable energycompany. Objections to the mega project by Friends of Maines Mountains(FMM) centered upon a concern that First Winds financial inadequacies inthe area of decommissioning - should that ever happen - and the number ofeagle nests possibly affected by 29 towers planned in Mayfield Twp, 22towers in Kingsbury Plantation and 11 for Bingham might be affected. Forestclearances have already started for roads and tower platform meadows andthe group against it has announced it will withdraw any further opposition.
