Ellis Stone Construction Com-pany has been awarded the contract for the east terminal expansion at the Central Wisconsin Airport. The 23,800 square foot expansion will include a new and enlarged baggage claim area and a mezzanine to house the admin-istrative offices. This is Phase II of a $25 million terminal renovation and expansion aimed at increasing opera-tional space, expanding the security check-point, relocating car rentals to their own facility and expanding cur-rent parking facilities.

Cindy Burns CIC, CPIA, President of Burns Insurance Agency and Dan Burns CIC, CPIA, CEO of Burns Insurance Agency LLC were recently awarded the designation of Certified Professional Insurance Agents (CPIA), a professional designation conferred by the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society (the AIMS Society).

Cindy and Dan, successfully completed all of the Insurance Success schools. The CPIA designation stands for professionalism, commitment to sales training and results, and much higher degree of techni-cal knowledge. Graduates leave with detailed information for providing solutions that benefit consumers in the complex insurance marketplace. The designation does require a bi-annual continuing education update.

Santa in the Park - Auburndale Santa’s sleigh is packed and making a stop at the Auburn-dale Park Shelterhouse on Saturday, December 7, from 10 am - 2 pm. Holiday Light Flights Duffy’s Aircraft is offering Holiday Light Flights for $60 per flight over the City of Marshfield and the Rotary Winter Wonderland in Wildwood Park. Beginning December 6 to December 30, flights are scheduled every 15 minutes at 5 pm to 7 pm. The cost for the flights is not per person but per flight. A flight can carry one, two or three people, plus the pilot. If each person brings a pet food donation and/or non-perishable food item, a discount will be given on the cost of the flight.

Xtreme Xploration Volunteers needed!Xtreme Xploration is an event where “Business and education leaders share real life experience to prepare students for post high school opportunities.” Marshfield Juniors will have access to educational information on financial aid, various technical and private colleges, employer expectations and student life panels. Students will also participate in a personal interview with a community member and receive valuable feedback from them. We will again be looking for community volunteers to interview the students, so if you have participated in the past or are interested in joining us for the first time, please save the date of Tuesday, February 11 (snow date February 13) at UW-Marshfield/Wood County. Cruisin’ for CareersThe Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Workforce Paradox committee coordinated the 2nd Cruisin’ for Careers event held on Friday, November 22 for students from Columbus Catholic and Trinity Lutheran schools. The goal of this partner-ship between education and business is to get students excited about a variety of industry career options available right in their backyard. Participating businesses included Marshfield DoorSystems Masonite and Roehl Transport. December 20133rd Annual Hot Chocolate Run

This family fun event will take place on

Saturday, December 14th. The race

starts and ends at the Gondolier Restau-

rant. Race begins at 9am, with registra-

tion at 8am. We are expecting roughly

200 participants. If your business would like to add a

promotion item/coupon to the goodie bags, please

have them to the Main Street Office no later than

Monday, December 1st. This is great way to pro-

mote your business! If you have any questions,

please contact the office.

Reindeer Day

Perfect photo op! See live reindeer along with Santa

and Mrs. Clause, and enjoy cookies and hot choco-

late. This family fun day takes place Saturday, De-

cember 14th from 10am-1pm in the BMO Parking

Lot.

PROW

Just a reminder that all PROW signs needed to be

removed by November 1st! It doesn’t matter if

there is snow or not, all signs need to be removed.

Any signs that are not removed are in violation of

the agreement.

Downtown Snow Removal

Below is the city ordinance regarding

snow/ice removal in the downtown.

Please keep this in mind with the up-

coming snow season.

Owners of Downtown Property abut-

ting or containing public sidewalks, curb ramps and cross-

walks, shall be responsible to remove or have removed all

accumulations of snow and ice down to bare pavement for

the entire paved width and length of such sidewalks,

within 48 hours after snow or ice has fallen or accumu-

lated thereon, without notice.

The minimum charge for ice and snow removal and treat-

ment shall be $235.00 for any parcel containing not more

than 200 feet of sidewalk length; $260.00 for any parcel

containing more than 200 feet of sidewalk length, and an

additional $130.00 for each curb ramp or crosswalk, plus

administrative charges as established by the street super-

intendent.

Wagon/Buggy Rides

We have one date left this season for free wagon/buggy

rides. The last date is Friday, December 20th.

Wagon rides are from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and leave from

the area of China Chef. This is a great family activity.

Buggy rides are from 6pm to 8pm, and leave from the

Holiday Inn. This is for adults only. The buggy can hold

up to 4 adults.

Just a reminder that all PROW signs needed to be

removed by November 1st! It doesn’t matter if

there is snow or not, all signs need to be removed.

Any signs that are not removed are in violation of

the agreement.

Downtown Snow Removal

Below is the city ordinance regarding

snow/ice removal in the downtown.

Please keep this in mind with the up-

coming snow season.

Owners of Downtown Property abut-

ting or containing public sidewalks, curb ramps and cross-

walks, shall be responsible to remove or have removed all

accumulations of snow and ice down to bare pavement for

the entire paved width and length of such sidewalks,

within 48 hours after snow or ice has fallen or accumu-

lated thereon, without notice.

The minimum charge for ice and snow removal and treat-

ment shall be $235.00 for any parcel containing not more

than 200 feet of sidewalk length; $260.00 for any parcel

containing more than 200 feet of sidewalk length, and an

additional $130.00 for each curb ramp or crosswalk, plus

administrative charges as established by the street super-

intendent.

Wagon/Buggy Rides

We have one date left this season for free wagon/buggy

rides. The last date is Friday, December 20th.

Wagon rides are from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and leave from

the area of China Chef. This is a great family activity.

Buggy rides are from 6pm to 8pm, and leave from the

Holiday Inn. This is for adults only. The buggy can hold

up to 4 adults.
