Catholic Charities St. Lucy Project is inGREAT NEED OF FOOD!As we are all aware, unfortunately there can be noparish food drives until regular public Massesresume. However, in his "shelter-in-place" order, ourGovernor has declared that food banks are an essen-tial service; and the need for food to feed families in
our communities is even greater now than ever. On May 15th, from10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., St. Mary of Sorrows will participate in a new andcreative St. Lucy Food Drive Project - "NO CROWD - DROP AND GO - NOCONTACT - Drive-Thru Food Drive". Here is how it will work: A St. LucyFood truck will be parked on our parish parking lot to receive food dona-tions. Parishioners will line up in their cars (NO CROWD), drive up tothe truck, roll down their driver-side windows, DROP the plastic bag (nocloth bags please) in a large box without leaving their car, and then GO(drive off). Catholic Charities staff will stay with the truck (NO CONTACT)and drive the truck back to their warehouse for safe distribution to thosein need. There will be no physical contact between the driver and the St.Lucy staff and no one will need to leave their car. Please spread the wordto friends and neighbors, and thank you for your generous participation!A gentle reminder: No perishable items or glass jars/bottles, please.

Operation JoyWe are looking to bring joy into your life,either by you creating it or viewing thecreations of others. We’re asking familiesto create pictures-online, crayon, marker,paint, playdough, chalk on sidewalk, etc.and take a picture of it and/or make aquick video singing a song, playing instru-ments or sending a message and email to

donations to our community-based food banks and feeding pro-grams, many of which are St. Mary's Tithing Fund recipients,including: Fairfax FISH, The St. Lucy Project, Food for Others, TheLamb Center, and Christ House.At the time of this bulletin submission, the volunteers are also
