Luxury Connect Business School

For the past several years, luxury in India has seen a consistent growth of about 20% PA. From 4.77 billion USD in 2009, it is currently estimated to be at 8.21 billion USD and is expected to surge to 15 billion USD by 2015. With the ever burgeoning retail sector and the myriad number of international brands entering or expanding their base in India, there is a considerable need for trained professionals in the luxury retail & service sector.

As per a national report, it is projected that by the year 2022, Indian Luxury Products & Services Segment will be requiring Manpower to the count of 1.76 million heads. Further, according to research report "The Status of Luxury Talent in India" by Luxury Connect , it has been found that the existing Manpower Lacks in Professional Luxury Expertise and at times unable to maintain the standards of a Luxury Brand.

Luxury Connect has been amongst the first few to identify this surging task and has set up India’s first and only Luxury B School – LUXURY CONNECT BUSINESS SCHOOL (LCBS).

With the expected rising demand, we have customized and designed various programs to focus education and training in areas like brand management, retail services and skills, customer relationship management and more. Luxury Connect Business School, has been carefully designed keeping in mind the standards and gaps prevalent in the industry. Taking a step further, the school has collaborated with international universities to provide a global perspective to the students.

Post successful completion of short term programs, the school, this year has introduced diploma and post graduate courses in collaboration with International University of Monaco. The key focus being on faculty and student exchange programs, the students will benefit from local experiences coupled with the right amount of international exposure.

Luxury Retail Service Skills, (LRSS) program by Luxury Connect Business School is designed for executives serving customers directly for a Premium or Luxury Brand or Service. The program covers the requisite knowledge and skills required in the Luxury Industry . Ideally this program serves as a “Bridge to Luxury” and is best for candidates aspiring to be in the Luxury Industry. It focuses on Customer Management, Servicing Affluent Customers and Managing the Customer Service Team. Focus being actual shop floor behavioral science, the delegate develops a deep insight on how / what / when / where is required.

Luxury Brand Management on line track (LBM – OL) program by Luxury Connect Business School is designed for executives wanting to understand the nuances of the luxury industry in a short capsule model format. Managers / executives from remote areas and or time starved managers could directly undertake the class room on line. The program covers the requisite knowledge and skills required in the Luxury Industry. The program offers a detailed and in-depth approach to various aspects of brand management making one understand a brand’s value, image and position in order to ascend the ladder of success. Key differences between a premium brand and a luxury brand are understood here in detail. Ideally this program serves as a “Bridge to Luxury” and is best for candidates aspiring to be in the Luxury Industry.

The part time executive program consisting of a joint track with ‘International University of Monaco’ offers a comprehensive coursework that would benefit you professionally in your career within the luxury / premium industry.

The program is spread for a duration of 6 months, with two weeks* committed classroom sessions by International Professors, luxury seminars and conferences at International University of Monaco. The program offers a detailed and in depth approach to various aspects of brand management making you understand a brand’s value, image and position in order to ascend the ladder of success.

Ideal Candidate

EDLM is ideal for working executives who have keen interest in developing their skills and knowledge further in Luxury Business. Top, Senior and middle management should undertake this program to realizetheir own potential and help them explore other luxury segments as well.

Career Opportunity

After undertaking this program, the candidate will be able to outline specifics of the luxury business to be used to best practices thus enabling them to realize the huge potential in various sub groups of luxury. The International University of Monaco contributes to the intellectual “Aura” of Monaco in the luxury fields, organizing high profile conferences in its areas of specializations : Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Luxury Management and Finance.

Every year IUM welcomes on its Monaco Campus top executives, HR managers and recruiters from the most renowned luxury brands as : Bottega Veneta, Richemont Group, Ralph Lauren, Fendi, Campari, Faconnable, Gucci or Louis Vuitton, to name a few.

*Monaco is optional : Students visiting Monaco will have a chance to also attend extra curricular activities, conferences, company visits proposed by eitheir IUM or by other Monaco institutions, thus making from that Monaco journey a unique learning and networking experience”

Out of the total 20 students, only 12 will be selected to attend the program at IUM. The selection will be on first - come, first-serve basis.

PGDLMPost Graduate Diploma in Luxury Management

The Post graduate Diploma in Luxury Management has been designed such that the student not only understands the nuances of handling luxury in India, but is able to achieve an international perspective. Based on a joint track with ‘International University of Monaco’, the program prepares young students to take their first steps into an international career through a mix of academics and practicals on different industry segments. The program is based on an industry-specific perspective and designed to give future graduates a leading edge in the booming luxury market. The program provides an intense know-how of luxury business management subjects enabling students to face and solve different issues of strategic planning, buying, merchandising, marketing strategies, brand management and more.

Highlights

The Program has been divided into 4 terms with the first two being conducted in India, followed by a three month term at Monaco and a six months compulsory industry internship.

Ideal Candidate

PGDLM is an ideal program for fresh graduates or for professionals with a minimum work experience of one year in Luxury Trade or 2-3 years in premium trade.

The curriculum has been designed to offer a broad yet focused multidisciplinary dimension. It introduces students to the operational, financial, marketing, and product issues that impact strategic and business decisions in the area, while providing a focused insight into the wider traits of the industry.

This program is designed to answer the specific needs of a fast-evolving, diverse and complex industry: new trends, new concepts, new services, and new players are breaking into this sector which is the ultimate Expression of personalized service and intimate elegance.

It is designed to develop specifically-educated managers able to craft novel solutions to the highly complex problems that arise in the luxury retail environment. Students learn the complexity of the luxury industry and the interrelationships between all business functions within a retail environment.

Post Graduation Diploma helps the student specialize in any of the above mentioned areas. The program is conducted in four terms: the first two being in India followed by three months in Monaco and an Industry internship.While phase II, students would be exposed to Luxury in Monaco; attend guest lectures from top executives of major brands and get a chance to attend top marques event.

He has a wide knowledge and intervenes for different Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Relais et Chateaux worldwide, Bonpoint, Caran d’Ache, Sofitel Worldwide. Scion of an aristocratic family, he learnt international fashion from his Italian Guru, Elia Quagliola. Rajat, a legendary figure from the fashion and apparel industry has over 35 years of experience spread over Italy, EU, USA, SE Asia and India. Along with his sourcing forte, he established joint ventures in the 90’s for luxury brands such as Lacoste, La Perla and Corneliani. Rajat also produced shirts at his own factory for Armani, Cerruti 1881, Cacharel, Lacoste, Boggi for over a decade. He revolutionized the apparel education industry in Bangladesh by setting up Pearl Academy, a delegated center of Nottingham Trent University.

Dr. Marika Taishoff MBA Program Director, IUM

Annalisa TarquiniMSc. Program Director, IUM

Dr. Marika Taishoff is Director of the Full Time MBA and Executive On-Line MBA at the International University of Monaco. Prior to joining IUM in 2009, Marika had worked with IMD (the International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne, Switzerland; Bocconi University Business School in Milan; and at the Imperial College Management School, University of London, as well as having been a consultant to many companies in Europe and Turkey. Her own academic background extends well beyond management She has a BA magna cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University in English and Religion; an MA from Columbia University in Russian Literature; an MA from the School of International Affairs of Columbia University in International Banking & Finance; and a Docteur es Sciences Politiques from l’Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales of the Universite de Geneve.

Annalisa is currently working at IUM as Director of 3 Masters in Luxury Business (Luxury Goods & Services, Luxury Retail Management, and Luxury Hospitality & Event Management). Annalisa has worked as a recruitment manager in the HR Department of Fendi, part of the LVMH Group. She managed with her team the whole recruitment process for the Corporate Headquarters, the Logistic Pole, the Plant, the European Offices and Retail Network (20 Boutiques: Italy, France, UK, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey). Previously she spent 7 years working in the commercial department of several HR consulting companies, starting as the Key Account Manager before being promoted to the Area Manager. Annalisa graduated in Economics at the Sapienza University in Rome.
